Last Day To Order A C7
Does anyone know the last day a c7 can be ordered or is that even out yet ??

It's all speculation at this point. Nobody outside GM and its suppliers really knows if 2019 is the last model year for the C7. Sure, many folks in here will tell you they know everything about it.

I don't believe there's reason to be concerned as I would assume when GM does make an announcement there will be time for potential purchasers to react (whatever that reaction may be) to the news.

Just my opinion as an ex GM supplier, but I can see GM keeping the current gen C7 on for a few more years. The tooling is paid for, they have the plant capacity and the new C8 will share plant operating expenses with the C7 since they can be built under the same roof. They could also adjust production to better align with actual C7 demand.
GM has a long history of keeping aging models in production even after a new model is introduced. They kept the ancient FWD Olds Ciera and Buick Century in production until they no longer met US side impact standards (then moved them to Mexico where they were able to keep selling), kept the mid 90's Impala in production (as Impala Classic) as the current Impala was introduced for a few more years, and in one of their craziest cost be damned moves, pulled the (very poor selling) Cadillac Eldorado tooling out of the Detroit Hamtramck plant in 1999 and moved it into the old Buick Reatta Lansing Mi (Craft Center plant) where it was the sole vehicle being produced there (and production at 5 vehicles per hour!!!) (60 vehicles an hour is std production rate). And at that point the Eldorado engineering and design was almost 10 years old!
As a guy that wants to order a C7 early next year, I am betting on the C7 running for a few more years!

It will be sometime next spring. I would not want to order a new car then though as the chances are the factory will be imposing constraints which could effect whether certain colors and options are stilll available. There is a member on the forum who has a big YouTube channel. He is a top 5 Corvette seller and is based in Ohio. His name is Rick Conti and he just made a YouTube video that discuss the transistion from C7 to C8. He believes that there will not be a parallel C7 and C8 production line. He thinks that C7 production will end and C8 will come on line. You should watch his channel as he is a industry insider.

If this happens it will be the end of the Corvette, America's only sports car, so sad.

I don't think it will be the end but I think it will become just another goofy looking mid engine car with no trunk to carry my two sets of golf clubs and luggage for weekend trips with my wife. I will be keeping my C7 for a very long time I'm thinking.

All good points Cadigti.
I am assuming the 2020 C7.5 will have refreshed front and rear fascias and some interior upgrades. Do you think the Caddy 4.2TT with the 10 spd auto will be offered as an extra cost option? I assume the 6.2 will be offered with the manual and 30+ more hp.
Your thoughts?

Im sure they have about 3-4 years of production left on the C7. It's only been out for 4 years now. Why would they move on to something else so quickly. I agree its time for a mid cycle update, but not a whole new platform. Everyone is just so sure the C8 is coming. Its almost as bad as what the new iPhone is going to be like crowd.

I know many are waiting to embrace this mid engine Corvette but the C7 has such a unique look to it that just sets it apart from all the Euro ME cars. Why would we want our Corvette to become just another "me too" ME look alike? I know many will say that ME cars perform better but this is America's sports car and there is more to it than just ultimate performance.
I'm sure the C8 whatever it is will be a great car and those who buy them will be pleased but there are a lot of unanswered questions that need to be addressed before we want to throw the C7 out with the trash.

The C8 Zora will be the track car so the fact that it looks like a rolling cinder block with proportions way off doesn't matter. It will win at the track against everything Porsche and Ferrari can throw at it. With no manual trans or cargo space, it won't appeal to many Corvette buyers so the C7.5 will be offered to them as the ultimate sports car to compete against the Supra and Jag F-type.

Jeep has stayed true to its roots for 70 years and buyers have rewarded it. Porsche 911 has stayed true for 50+ years and buyers have rewarded it.
OTOH, Cadillac has abandoned its roots and now it is a has been brand. Ford cars, except Mustang which has stayed true, are history too.
