Lol thanks! i hate to argue with you. Thank you for your advice. I’ll be done with my masters at 21 at the University of Florida as an aerospace engineer, entry level around 70-90k. Glad your hear about your niece!I wish I had a basement in South Florida! Thanks. I already am saving for a rental property to provide me cash flow!

Perfect. 21 with a Master's. I agreed with the guys that said get a grad degree, but thought that would take you to 24+. Then you maybe would've been thinking about marriage. The one thing I haven't seen in this argument is having kids. Yes, you should wait until you're financially self-reliant, and yes you should get your grad degree and not worry about working, but don't wait too long! There's a sweet spot in there before you have children. A corvette is an impractical car with kids. I wanted one all my life but didn't even consider it when young, mostly because my wealth only afforded an MGB-GT (learned a heckuva lot about mechanics with that POS). When my daughter was older, I was able to get my C5, then the C6, and now the C7.
So I agree with everyone, but don't wait too long.

My advice would be to save as much money as you can while you're in college and working so that when you graduate, you're in a good spot to buy a house. Cars are a lot of fun, but they aren't an investment. Like you, I got an early start on retirement savings, but I wasn't as good at saving money elsewhere. It's something I regret not being better about.

And you may get 'there' at/by 25.
Patience.

Resist starting out w/ debt, after graduation knock yourself out.
Once financials are clearly known, may very well be capable of something a good deal better --whateveritis.
Won't be long & there'll be a hellova cash flow, and ideally it'll only get better.

Like I said above, there's a sweet spot in between where you can afford it but you don't yet have children. Of course, if you can afford to have a daily driver at your age PLUS a corvette PLUS children, that's a great thing! Otherwise, get a 'vette before children or wait until they grow up. To wit: when I got my first 'vette 14 years ago at age 51 my daughter said, "dad, the only people driving corvettes are middle-aged bald guys." LOL (not true but close)

Not buying it Joe. The only Jesuit law schools (of the 9) where starting pay would be at the top of the scale are Georgetown, Boston College and Fordham, and at all three, the three year tuition & fees is over $170k.
The highest paying law jobs out of law school are with the big NYC law firms - they all pay $190,000/yr - there are no starting law jobs that pay "several hundred thousand dollars annually" - NONE. Top pay at a NYC big law firm for any non-partner (which is at least 8 years out of school) is currently $360k/yr. I have lots of friends at the NYC big law firms we use in our operations.

For the OP, I just don't think I would put the financial stress of a $700/month ($35,000 @ 4.5% for 60 months) car payment on myself at age 18 while going to school. Also, the insurance for a 2016 Corvette as a daily driver for an 18 year old is probably 2.5x what the 2013 Camaro costs, and I wouldn't force my parents to pay that extra money unless they were rich, and then they would be buying me the car too.

Definitely not the days where you hear about all these guys buying brand new C2/3 corvettes at 18 anymore. Wish car prices were a lot lower so I found afford a used one! Good luck!

Stay in school, enjoy the 2013 Camaro (certainly better than most beaters that students have to drive), work, study, invest and work some more. Graduate with honors and no debt.......then get a new C8 after landing that dream job.

Avoid marriage until you are at least 25 and self sufficient. Avoid children until you are at least 30, married and both of you are able to afford it.

IMO going into debt in college is a bad idea, simply because you'll graduate with that obligation on your shoulders with no guarantee of a job to PAY for it. Also, I recommend against ANY parent signing for ANY child's toys.. At 18, you are an ADULT who should be doing as much as possible on your own, and IMO parents' money is "for use in emergency only".
You have a fine car and are well on your way to a great life in which you can EARN what you buy and enjoy it with the satisfaction that you did it on your own... As others suggested, the insurance cost for an 18 year old Corvette owner may be a show stopper. That bill will also continue at least till you turn 25... (Diet soda only)

Graduation hopefully Fall of 2021, I finish my 4 year 2020, and UF allows you to work on your grad degree your junior year of college. I'm not much of the beer and party guy, I really didn't put my whole life on this forum lol. But I have a girlfriend who I have been since junior year of high school, my high school allowed me to dual enroll (take college classes) my freshmen year so when I graduated high school I walked away with a full ride, money back, and with 50 college credits.

I have some cash safe for an investment property to create monthly cashflow, I will also become a realtor on Jan of 2019. I recently started my own business with aerial photography, this is why I want to become a realtor so I can help myself and help other realtors with my business. I am currently working in construction, making $900 a month after tax, my dad builds beams and all that so I work with him. He didn't want me building beams all day so he wanted me to go to college from the start, I am really fortunate. I've driven all the high end cars (of course because it's West Palm Beach). So I understand when most of the advice I receive is that I'm too young to drive a corvette. But I also have been driving since 15, and I've received 0 tickets. If I want to feel the speed of my car, just take it to the track. I'm also extremely minimalistic.

So to answer your question, hopefully I graduate Fall of 2021. Trust me, I have 0 social life, all I do is calculus, calculus, physics, girlfriend time, gym, student government, and sleep. I definitely want to intern to have the experience, because I know exactly what I want to do. Aerospace Engineering with a focus on rocket propulsion and anything with aerodynamics. Thank you for your input! I absolutely love the feedback, I still would love to drive such an amazing car! But I also have to understand that my time to drive one isn't yet. In my mind I had 23 because I'll have money saved, a rental property, stable job, and maxed out roth ira.
