Magnetic ride control is standard on the C7 Grand Sport.

Mag ride is Standard equipment in a Grand Sport. So is PTM, Performance Traction Management with its five modes, and several sub modes in track. It also comes with the NPP exhaust, which changes the exhaust note depending on the PTM selection.

Comes with all sorts of cool stuff.

Included with GS Model. The difference between a Stingray Z51 (no mag ride by default) vs. a GS (Mag Ride included) is about $3200. If you plan to add Mag ride to the Z51 Stingray then the cost is about even. Most will choose the GS at this point since it also includes bigger brakes and rotors, wider wheels and tires and wide body with side skirts, front spoiler.

Nice. Did you order yours like that? I ordered my GS Vert with as a 1LT with no options as well. The dealers always tend to load them up with options I don't want or need and inflate the cost.

Yup, for a bit under 11k, you get the 3k mag ride... aaaand, dry sump engine, performance exhaust, upgraded suspension components, bigger brakes, bigger wheels/tires, better cooling systems, front splitter, side skirts, rear spoiler, and wide body panels. Try getting all that after you buy a base stingray for anywhere near $11k. It's a great upgrade for a very reasonable price.
I would have paid the difference just for the looks alone, but with the performance additions it was an easy decision. If you're thinking z51, then you'd be nuts to not get the GS, because if you add the mag ride to a z51 you're basically paying the same as you would for a GS and the GS has other advantages vs even the z51.

too loaded ones as easily. Typically, to move them on spec, they get heavily discounted later on the lot.
No one with a 2LT ever wished they'd of bought a 1LT.

By the time you or the dealer adds GS: $11K, Convertible: $5K, they're already diminishing the pool of buyers. That's why so many are ending up with the 1LT as their trim level. Cost. Dealers can't move the highly optioned /

As for the pricing, the Grand Sport is not a package like the Z51 is on a Stingray. The Grand Sport is a specific model in the lineup, just like the Z06 and ZR1. Also, the convertible top is $4k msrp extra on the GS, which made it a no brainer for me. That aside, GM prices the Grand Sport so close to a Stingray with Z51 it is hard not to purchase the GS if you are in the market for one. Once you add the mag ride option to a Z51, you are pretty much there and as already mentioned you pick up the bigger wheels/tires, brakes, wide body, aero bits, etc.
This is all by design. They release the initial models and performance packages and then a year later release a high end model and then create the cross breed between the two. This is why the Grand Sport is often referred to the sweet spot in the Corvette lineup.
I agree with you though that dealers do tend to order their cars loaded up and when they don't sell they have to sell them at a big discount. Loading them up usually works for them when the demand is high and supply low. For example, the ZR1 around me come loaded at $140k msrp and they sell them immediately.

Yep an 1LT Grandsport is a great sports car for me. The public loves it too. Ever have a kid yell at you "that thing's a beast!"? Too funny.

THANKS DUDE! Was happy to find this one haha!
Hey bud, I didn't order it, but happened on it at the right time (and still got 13% off of the sticker). Was GREAT timing paying deep into the $50's for a GRAND SPORT!
I agree. I like to buy my own stuff and make it mine, plus I bought it to drive the snot out of!
THANKS!

It's more about the drive than the stuff for me.

I agree, when you consider all that comes standard with the GS and it's certainly not like a 1LT is stripped down by any means (1LT includes 8" touch screen, Bose 9 speaker stereo system, leather power GT sports seats, active handling, dual-zone A/C, keyless access/start, power tilt/telescopic sports leather wrapped flat bottom steering wheel, cruise control, power windows/door locks, tire pressure monitor, driver/passenger and side air bags, carbon fiber hood, Bremo brakes, rear view camera, body color carbon fiber painted removable roof panel (coup), power top (convertible) which can be lowered remotely).

Since you're stuck with 1LTs, what are you going to say? "I'm glad I ram my front spoiler into curbs when parking?" "I love being blinded at night with no night tint?!" To a 1LT owner - everything's a 1LT!

Go enjoy your 1LT. It's all you've got.
