Default Finally a part of the Corvette Club and thank you all!

Well, I am now officially a Corvette owner for the first time. I started my search for a vehicle last December and in May after having ridden in a C7 Z06 on the Patriot Course last year at VIR at full speed and a couple of test drives, I was sold on that being what I wanted.

I was ready to order Admiral Blue as it's a great color, but when I saw it was being replaced and that color was Elkhart Lake Blue Metallic, my heart was instantly set on that color. Kalahari stole my heart as well for the inside. Yes, it's a manual and if the autos weren't quite as expensive, I might have gone that route, but I'm really happy to have a manual (never owned an auto yet in anything!).

I lurked here for months, reading and reading and reading everything I could from new purchases to problems to upgrades. I learned a lot. I never like to make big decisions without lots of research and thought. I want to thank all of you who shared both excitement and those who shared their heartache and frustrations as you sought to get things made right. I want to thank those who figured out how to make things better and who reviewed products they installed (I have a list now....lol).

After picking it up today, I put another 130 miles on the car and I'm not over 40% of the way through break-in and I absolutely cannot wait until it is done! Got some nice thumbs up and looks from people today, which was just great.

From the decision on the color, to waiting on being able to order, to having the car go into QC at Bowling Green and the driver stopping a mile from where I live to sleep before he got to take a whole trailer full of Corvettes home for the weekend while I watched with bated breath on my car getting delivered, those stresses are finally over and she's sitting comfortably beside my boyfriend's Admiral Blue 1995 in the garage tonight. Went back out to check something and the whole thing smells like new Corvette!

Absolutely thrilled and excited! Thanks everyone! Here's a few pics of my girl in the wild on my first day of ownership!

Ken, you must be getting close on your EB build, when will you be starting a thread like this? The wait is the hardest part.

Car due in Portland railyard on election day. I figure a couple days to get it to local delivery dealer and maybe no more than a week for PDI. So maybe I'll have it in my grubby paws within the next 2 weeks

(then I need to start a signature like yours )

That color!!! CONGRATULATIONS. I had a Laguna Blue Z51 before this Admiral blue GS, but that new one is extra nice.

Had Kalahari on that Z51 too and it was perfect. You have great taste!

ENJOY!!!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I had to sneak out the garage on "errands" last night a couple of times just to see it again and confirm it's really there!

KenHorse, I can't wait to see yours either! My dealer had my PDI done the day it arrived on the truck! To include the Stage 2 winglets (no Stage 1 installed on it at delivery when we unwrapped it) and although I was going to put them on myself so I wasn't charged $70 for 5 minutes of my time, they put the rear splash guards on it as well. Z06 center console cover and basic ground effects (didn't want a Stage 2 splitter till I make sure I'm not going to tear it off on my regular places...especially since I want to go down some on stock bolts). My supercharger coolant tank looked COMPLETELY full as well when it was delivered, which made me feel good about that! I did get lucky though that the PPF guy recommended suddenly had an opening and the dealer was terrific to get it there and back for me so I could get into the car sooner.
