I think it was a month or two ago Hertz announced that they would start renting the Hertz Edition ZO6 Corvettes. Well,
this one lived a short life. I found this on Copart salvage auction. The car is located in Hartford CT Starting bid is $21,200

Do you think the executive that came up with this idea got a big promotion?

Hertz will get paid one way or another . They had base 2lt 08 coupes and 09 verts in yellow with black stripes. some were wrecked then too. I owned 08 and it had 133k miles when I sold it was a good deal.

That one definitely won't. Would like to know the story behind that wreck.

Looks like it was struck from behind by a big rig considering the even amount of impact across the rear of the car. Looking at the position of the rear calipers, the torque is bent or the transaxle has been spilt in two. About the only thing worth buying the car for is the engine and maybe some miscellaneous parts.

I bought a 2015 2SS RS Camaro Convertible two years ago that was a Hertz Rental. It had 22,000 miles on it and was in fantastic shape. If you go over them with a fine tooth comb you can find really good off rental cars.

Exactly!! That doesn't look like driver lost control at all!! Corvette or not, it would happen regardless!!

Who in their right mind would buy that car with a starting bid of 21,200?

I bet they could part it out and make more than that. The engine alone could probably fetch $10,000 or more. (GM wants $17,000 or so for a new LT4 crate motor)

I agree, would be a loser trying to repair/get it back on the road, however someone could probably turn a profit parting it out.

Default Old Enuf

To remember the 1966 Hertz Shelby Mustang 350H. Rent on Friday, race the weekend, return on Monday. They bring a king's ransom today.

That car is done. Talent can’t fix that car. A lot of money, more than the car is worth will fix that. Part out only.

Driver loses control, goes around 180, slams into wall/rail/building with back end square into it. Just another possibility.....

The engine in this car would bring $15,000 because you get all the accessories on it, brackets, wiring harness, starter, alternator, etc. Also, this car has sports seats in it. You have to be in the auto salvage business to understand why this car will sell for 25K. I have never met anybody who is in the auto salvage business that is poor. There is enough of reusable parts on that car that when it is all said the salvage dealer will get in the low 30's back.

Yes, the front end alone would bring a small fortune plus the engine and all the little parts. I know the headlights are very expensive on a C-7 too.

There was a member here who bought a Hertz C6 coupe like yours, drove it to a total of something like 250k miles and had far fewer problems than our identical (except color) 2009 that we bought brand new and dumped at 102k miles.
