I purchased a bottle of Blackfire the other day and decided to give it a shot. It is partly sunny and 50 degrees with no wind in South Jersey today. I figured the weather isn't going to get any better than that so it was now or in the spring. We still have a little snow left on the ground from the snowstorm last Thursday.
I bought mine on Monday from Auto Geek. They were having a 25% off sale on everything. I got it for $36 plus they threw in 3 of those supreme 530 microfiber towels for free.
Chip, I understand all the washing, claying and removing or previous waxes, etc..................
but WHY would anyone want to apply the BLACKFIRE (above) and not remove
ANY scratches, defects that certainly must be on most Corvettes..........

After over 18 years of being a Zaino only guy, you just broke me Chip (I ordered a bottle). Powerful image you have up there! Can't wait to see how it goes...

I am curious how this compares to installing Zaino. Easier, harder, takes more time?

Not even in the same ball park. It is absolutely way easier. I'm just talking about the blackfire step here, not all the prep like washing, clay bar and machine polishing out scratches. You just spray it on a microfiber towel as opposed to spraying it directly on the car to avoid overspray and wipe it on. Then immediately take another clean microfiber towel and wipe off the product, turn the towel and buff. That's it! From everything I've read you don't even wait for it to dry before you start wiping. I guess to prevent streaking. Also do small sections at a time to prevent streaking. I was lucky, I did a minor paint correction last week and put it back in the garage. So today I only had to apply the blackfire. It is absolutely KILLER on red!
One other thing, I did not use a microfiber towel to apply the Blackfire. I used a Hex Logic black applicator pad. I sprayed the blackfire right on to the pad and used a gentle sweeping motion to apply it. I believe that by using a finishing pad instead of a microfiber towel you will use even less product. It was almost too easy.

I started with Zaino in 2009 for my Corvette, then shortly afterwards used Rejex from then on.
This July I bought one of the last containers of Black Fire Crystal Seal before it was discontinued and will not be looking back.
My Shark Gray still looks like it did the day I applied it and it's holding up longer than anything else I've ever used.
Granted the Black Fire sio2 Sealant is what we're talking about now and my friend started using that since he coundn't get the Crystal Seal.
His car is also Shark Gray and it looks just as good if not better and holding up just as well.
The Crystal Seal was spray on, wipe around, leave it, and done.
Reading up on Black Fire sio2 Sealant, it's spray on, wipe it around, then wipe with a clean dry towel.
I'll be getting the Black Fire sio2 Sealant when I run out of the Crystal Seal
