Do I need splash guards with side skirts?
My Stingray is scheduled for production this week so should be here in a couple weeks. I am going to install side skirts when it arrives and was wondering if the wider splash guards are also recommended for protection? This car will be my daily driver.

I was wondering the same thing... I installed side skirts about 4000 miles ago and have not had any issues with rocks but wondering if splash guards would add coverage...

Splash guards will give you another bit of protection up to you as far as the look and the need. I mean some people wrap their whole car like Grandma used to do with her couch.

Yes, get the extended gaurds and put the xpel .on the lower rocker panels. My car was freshly painted in February, ( wide body conversion ) .A ton of road work in my neighborhood the entire summer. I didnt have extended gaurds or xpel . But i thought i was safe with my side skirts. My lower rocker panels paint is close to shot. I also have alot of chips in the quarter panels. I now have the extended gaurds ( they also look better ), have to get repaint then will definitely xpel lower rocker panel ( aka aperture panel ) and quarter panels.

On a Stingray with factory size tires I am not so sure. It wouldn't hurt to add them though. I added them on my GS because the the tires are so sticky and throw pebbles everywhere.

And they are cheap, easy to install and actually look better than wheel wells without them.

I am the second owner of my GS with Stage 2 aero. I noticed the front edge of the side skirts immediately behind the front wheel had been "sand blasted". I got the ACS extended mud flaps and they now cover the area that was being affected. The extended ones are about 1" longer than the regular and maybe just a little bit wider.

Got a Grand Sport with full length side skirts and followed the recordation on the Forum and bought ACS wider front splash guards. It's 19 months and not a scratch on the side skirts, rocker panels or the rear fender lower brake cooling duct opening. Just removed that discolored GM plastic protection.

I have a Stingray with 82,000. No side skirts, no mud flaps, etc. Just stock. The only blemishes I have on the car are on just in front of the rear wheels on the factory paint protection film in that area. If I replaced that film it would be perfect. Not one mark anyplace else along the side. Way underneath under the rocker panels, and only visible laying down a looking up, there are couple of chips, but not visible unless you lay down and lookup.

Yes, GM splash guards and side skirts will protect the sides of your Stingray.
