Windshield Crack: Warranty fix?
On the way home on the freeway, I heard a loud pop. After looking around, I see a crack on the windshield passenger side just above where the dash meets the windshield. After getting home, I check it from the outside and it feels smooth (no glass missing) which was weird.
is this a warranty fix and does the windshield need to be replaced?

Rock chip, no warranty but your insurance should cover it

Collision coverage would cover it (unless a waiver for windshields perhaps?)

It might be repairable by one of the glass rock chip repair shops. Definitely not covered by warranty.

Mine does. But I pay for glass replacement coverage. When living and driving in the Phoenix Arizona metro area where they line the freeways with crushed gravel....it's a requirement.

My understanding is that comprehensive covers if the car is not moving (aka parked). Moving and it's collision

Actually it's the size of a quarter that can be repaired. Almost all insurance companies will pay for a repair with no deductible so that should be your first plan.
