Belittling? Dude, chill. Someone saying they don’t understand why anyone would rather look at their C7 than drive it isn’t belittling. Some topics here bring out the same tired arguments, mostly by the same people, who feel strongly that they’re right and anyone who disagrees with them is wrong. This is one of those topics. Others include coupe vs vert, Manual vs auto trans, whether Z51 is a separate model or just an option package, and others.

Every time I say I drive mine a lot because it’s a depreciating Chevy I get deragatory remarks. I ignore them. If you haven’t seen remarks like that you’re not looking very hard.

That sounds very similar to someone I knew with a black 90 vert! When I used to hang out in Brampton I knew a guy named Joe Farrugia who's dad bought a new 1990 convertible, black on black and he barely ever drove it and he wouldn't drive it in the rain. And even though it was a convertible he refused to put the top down because he didn't want the interior to get dusty. He got caught in the rain with it twice by accident, the first time he pulled under a bridge and waited two hours for the rain to stop AND for the roads to dry fully! The second time he was driving it to work (he was a mechanic with his own shop in Brampton) and when it started to rain he slowed down to a crawling speed and immediately put the car up on the hoist in his shop and spent 2 hours wiping the undercarriage dry with shop rags. Maybe this is the same guy we're both talking about?!

That makes sense to me. I'm spoiled where I live. No rain. No snow. And can always find a good place to park.

I think I will go peruse a food forum and read about people that buy succulent steaks and just stare at them and not eat them or pour themselves a nice refreshing beer but not drink it. <<<<This is meant to be humor, not to get anyone butt hurt. Personally, if you enjoy staring at your car and hardly driving, it's no sweat off of my b*lls. Just like chocolate and vanilla there are people that love vettes and drive them as often as they can and those that for whatever reason like owning them but hardly drive them. It doesn't really matter to me what other people do with their cars or why they purchased them as I'm not making their car payments but I certainly enjoy not only having a vette, but I get immense pleasure in driving it too.

I think this sums it up very well. But then again, after one eats the steak it will quickly be turned into ........Much like too many nice cars that are used as daily drivers.

Just bought a 2014 2LT Torch Red coupe on Wednesday - had only 2601 miles on it. Got one heck of a deal on the car and it is in mint condition. More details to come in a separate post when I can post pics of the car - the weather has not been cooperating for picture taking. And this car will not be a garage queen - I plan on driving it.

If I lived in Arizona, I would put on plenty of miles on my c7 also! 👍

Then don't ever buy a boat - way more expensive than a Corvette, and for most far less use.
My C7-GS gets used from about April 1 to December 31 (most years when we don't have early snows - like his week's 6" that shut down NYC & surrounds (it took me 4.5 hours to go 38 miles to get home in one of our Jeeps, what with none of the roads plowed, a solid 1" of ice on the blacktop and far too many to count FWD cars and large trucks stuck on even the smallest up-hills blocking many lanes)) and I average 180 miles or so per month - about 6-10 uses.
In a typical year my big boat goes out 10-15x for about 80 hours engine running time (about 120 hours total) and my small boat goes out 25-30x for about 40 hours engine run time (50 hours total time) - the big boat costs (fuel maintenance, repair, storage, etc) about $450/hr (if you add in depreciation it is about $800/hr) and the small boat about $100/hr. By contrast the C7 including insurance, gas, maintenance and depreciation for 1,800 miles per year (70 hours use) is about $55/hr. As far as my toys go, it is a lot of fun for the money.

I bet there are quite a few super low mileage Z06s out there! A friend of mine from here in Oakville picked up a 2015 Z06 this summer from somewhere in the US (North Carolina I believe) and it had just under 500 miles on it!! He more than tripled the mileage on it in two days on his trip driving it home.

Wife's 15 Z51 convertible M7 we special ordered for her 40th B-day has 54xx miles on it. She drives to the nail salon and business seminars. We drive it to the gym once in a while too. I just got an 18 GT350R last month and I'm pretty sure I'll pass her mileage with in 6 months. Lol.

Oh and BTW, incase you were wondering, I used to have a 16 HC A8. Great fun in a straight line but not a very fulfilling driver otherwise. Driving my wife's Z51 M7 convinced me to get back into a manual. Why not a Vette? Already have one and I got a great opportunity to buy a new Shelby GT350R under MSRP.I've had a Boss 302 and 14 GT500. This R is the balance between the two in terms of power but yet better than either by a long shot at everything else. An absolute joy to row.

My 2016 Z06 came with 5200 miles in when I bought it in June. It now has just over 6200 miles. One warranty item; replaced the windshield washer pump, which in a Corvette is like the appendix in humans! I only found it was dead after I bought the car by running through a methodical check of all the functions. While it was in for the repair I had a more street-friendly wheel alignment done. Other than that it has been faultless.

Just picked up my 2016 with 5100 miles on it less than 3 weeks ago. Has almost 5800 on it now. That trend upward will likely continue.

Default Thank you...!!!

All I can say is a big Thank you from the bottom of my heart! The previous owner had kept the car in pristine condition and only 4K miles on it that I was then able to buy for a steal, even with CPO extended warranty!
