Congrats! I too have a '19 Stingray Convertible that has been put away for the past two weeks. It goes with the territory living in Snow Country! Mine most likely will not see the road again till sometime in April. It's ok though ...it's like getting a new car all over again!

Many thanks to all who have welcome me to this fantastic forum. Do many of you belong to the National Corvette Museum?

Yes, many of us are members of the museum. If you haven’t been there I would recommend it. I too lived in Juneau for several years at the end of the ‘70’s. I bought a motorcycle there & felt the same way about the lack of places to ride. I moved back to the Edmonds WA. area where they have more roads. With my work as a helicopter pilot I can live about anywhere.

When I was in high school many moons ago I wanted to be a helicopter pilot but I never got off my butt. I got a lot of information from the various helicopter companies like Sikorsky, Bell and Hiller if I remember right. Great job you have there. Cheers from Juneau.

Welcome, yes I do belong to the NCM and you certainly do have a good memory re helicopters that you studied if you remember the very small co. named Hiller. It's since been bought out from Fairchild and reconstituted with a Chinese co. but it was one of the innovative ones and located in California.

Since I'm approaching the old goat (or am already there) status and getting ready to retire in a few months, Alaska is on the bucket list (like many places unvisited due to a career with too many hours).

However, the Vette will probably stay home in the garage.

Congrats on the vette, but you CAN drive to Alaska.

We moved my grandma and grandpa down to the lower 48 from Anchorage some 33 years ago. Hell, the AlCan is even all paved now!

You have to either fly into Juneau or take the Alaska State Ferry from Bellingham, Washington to get to Juneau and the rest of Southeast Alaska. You can drive to Haines or Skagway, Alaska but you have to drive through Canada. You will need a pass port to get into Canada..

Saw this, looked back, saw the word capital after state. My bad. In my defense I'm an engineer and not a writer for a reason.

Default welcome

As I live in WA State, about 30 minutes south of Seattle and have been to Juneau (ugliest capitol building I've ever seen) I sympathize with your desire for a Vette while you enjoy one of the last places where its you and what nature has to offer. I'm impressed by the miles you've put on her where there's just not that many destinations. But it makes sense with grabbing all the temperate days you can and even those few miles are enjoyable. And even when the first flurries fly, drop the top, wear a hat and turn up the heat. My Z51 7MT 1LT Conv doesn't have heated seats as I hope yours does. Enjoy!

I don't have heated seats. I don't have a lot of options. I am not a fat cat but I payed cash for the car. I bought it through a dealer in Seattle. My wife never got to ride in it. She passed away on August 29th of last year. Been tough.

Man the car memories. My first was a ‘65 Vert, then a ‘75 T top, then teenagers, then a ‘98 coupe, a 05 coupe, and now my C7. These Vettes were on top of Porsche 914 6, 65 GT350 Mustang, 280 Z 2+2, Jaguar XJ6. Without question, the Vettes were my favorites. I’ll probably own a Vette until I take that last big highway in the sky.

The Summer of 2018 and 2019 was fantastic here in Juneau. But this Summer has been bad, lots of rain. I have driven the Corvette in the rain but that's the way it goes.

The last few days the weather has been fantastic. No heat wave but the Vette has a good heater. Save The Wave.

Congrats! Yes, most folks don’t understand that 455 hp in a stingray. Way more than anyone needs. Lol. Enjoy!
