Default Rear tire upsize? Keep cracking rear rims:(

Can I go to a 345/30/20 in the rear tires instead of the stock 335/25/20 without messing up anything? Traction control? ABS? Shifting? my car is a 8 speed auto. In a attempt to stop cracking my rear rims and I like beefier tires

You can go to the stock 18 / 19 combo and work perfectly, it is a stock configuration in the base... You could go smaller but the problem becomes fitting the brakes under the rim... Be sure to check everything for yourself, I am by no means a pro

He does not want to go smaller , he wants more sidewall on the rear of his wide body because he is bending rims

Mike , I feel your pain , wife and I were driving down the highway 75 MPH and bam I hit a pothole...busted a few cords in the tire right where the rim meets tge tire . Put new tires on and now I have a slight vibration which I am sure is being caused by a bent rim ...

Frankly, I doubt that the small side-wall difference would have helped with the broken rims I've seen for such tires as are common on our performance cars today.

When the tires are being installed and run on the balancer that all should be evident as to bent rim or not! May still be bad tires even when new

Run Flats still have stiffer side walls and race shocks are too harsh even in the softer setting combined with 25 series sidewall, rubber band tires. The rim is now the week link, and it cracks. So any change to those areas such as higher percentage side wall where available might help. Some think less air pressure to soften the blow. Others say more to keep the impact from reaching the rim -----------

There is a figure on the roll out that must be maintained. If my memory is any good its 2 inches or less front to rear maybe
