Infotainment Screen flickering cheap fix

I’m not sure if anyone has repaired their own flickering screens on the c7...I thought I was gonna be able to splice into the wires to repair the broken section but after looking closer I saw that it was a male and female connection that connected the screen to the wiring harness.... both blue wires are the same they just have a different housing on the wiring harness side but both connections that connect to the screen itself are the same. I was able to repair with a Mini B 5-Pin Male to Micro Female Adapter from amazon.. the fault wire disconnects from under the screen and just secure new wire .. see pics... hope this helps some people.. it beats paying $500 + for a new one when it can be replaced by a $5 w

I have not taken mine apart so I do not know but that wire does not look like a USB connector side on both of those cables... Is it behind that plastic piece in the first pic??
Thanks
Thanks

Good to know, however I'm not seeing how the replacement is actually installed. It looks like the replacement in his hand is blue, not black? How does the old one come out beyond that plastic that seems to be holding it in? More info would be helpful. Maybe if I actually had it apart and looked at it, it wouldn't seem so complicated?

In the first picture, can you show or describe how you removed the left cable from the bottom of the screen.
In the second picture, can you show or describe how you removed the harness connector and how the the end of the usb cable secures into the harness connector so that it does not fall out.

Once I made the new connection to the screen I simply pushed the plastic piece back in place best I could... for the wirehareness side I wrapped tape around the connection and lightly zip tied...once the connections are made the are pretty snug.. I failed to take picks of the new wire once I installed it🤦🏽.. I guess I got too excited

Dude, getting the wire nailed down to fix the issue is the best thing you could have done. I'll make it fit and I'll get it to stay connected too!
Thanks

Melting Slicks
Does this problem occur from raising screen up and down?

Good info. I'm wondering, how often did you up/down your screen to get the wire looking like that? I maybe up/down mine 1-2x a month just to get at my USB stick to add more songs.
