You may have a point - I'm a Lefty and the fuel gauge makes perfect sense. Vertically UP (anti-gravity) is full and horizontal (gravity pulls it against the peg) is empty

(not to mention the REALLY obvious part 1 = full, 0 - empty)

I drive both (predominately the C7 anymore), but the fuel gauges do read 180 degrees apart visually. Every so often, I startle myself, too.

Car is cold per the tach but the temp says warm is that the problem?
Just one note on this (in case someone wonders). The tach 'cold redline' won't go away for the first 500 miles regardless of engine temp. Kind of cool, for break in.

He has not hit the 500 break in miles, so the tack is showing the RPM limit during break in......

That's why I asked if his "problem" was the tach showing "cold" and the temperature showing engine at operating temps. Had he said yes, you just made my next reply but we got zigged to the "faulty fuel gauge" issue and never went back.

OK, although it does read Left to Right - I sympathize with the OP. When I first test drove a C7, neither I or the salesman could find the gas gauge. I didn't expect it to be so in your face obvious. I expected a small gas gauge or digital. We both felt pretty dumb when one of the techs pointed it out.

I did come from a c6, c5, c4, and c3, not to mention all the other trucks, Camaros, mustangs, and whatever else ive had over the years. this gage is backwards in my mind. I can almost guarantee in a few years when I forget all about this, I will post this same thing again.

doesn't the "1" on the gauge mean that you have 1 gallon left?

only GM engineers change the little things in each vehicle that they make; just to confuse us; no consistency from year to year.
