Default C7 cover best padding indoor storage

I have a c7 convert, my garage is tight and loaded with items that may bump (grandchildren on bikes etc). Anyone have a suggestion on best padded protection for indoor storage?

I bought 2 folding workout mats, 2 inch thick, approx. 3x5 ft from Dicks Sporting Goods. Great protection.

When my kids were young, I used a car cover then draped quilted furniture pads (like used for moving furniture) over the car.
Great protection.

That's basically what I do too. I cover the car with an indoor cover then drape the furniture/moving pads over it. You can pick the pads up fairly cheaply at Harbor Freight.

I would put the cover on first and then place the blankets on the cover otherwise you risk the blankets scratching the paint.

I agree 100% as the blanket material is often a little course/rough. If there's no Harbor Freight in your area, U-Haul also sells them for about the same price if I remember correctly.

These appear to be just right for storing a Corvette where there's risk of being struck by objects. A little pricey though @ $400.00 for a '17 GS Vert and a little concerning as I don't see where they even mention it's under lining which is very important to avoid scratching
of car's finish.

If they're 100% cotton then they're safe. I'm pretty sure the Harbor Freight blankets aren't 100% cotton. IDK if the coverking are 100% cotton or not (didn't read much about it as I was looking for an outside cover).

Spend $40 for quilted furniture pads to protect Corvette, or $5000 Believe I will go with the $40.

Haha. No doubt the Furniture pads are cheaper.

When I was a kid, my dad built a 3/4 pony wall out of plywood to enclose and protect his '37 Chevy coupe he restored. Additionally, he covered it with a fitted cover and then put furniture pads on top of that. It was only after 35 years when I had 3 kids of my own that I finally understood his rationale to build the wall.
