If you want to talk endlessly about a C5 C6, C3, C4 C2 or a C1, this is not really the forum to do so.

I figure after a couple three years most of the built in problems have been worked out, am I smoking the wrong stuff or is that mostly true ? Thanks, Bob

Only trick now is to find the right car with the right dealer who will give me a reasonable trade in value for my '04 conv. Thanks, Bob
Sell your 04 here on the forum. And/or CL.

Agree with a private sale for your current car as the best way to get top dollar for it. Sure, you can save some sales tax on a trade-in but in my experience dealers give you less than what the sales tax is worth in trade. That will open up the possibility of buying the best C7 you can find. In my year of looking the best cars at the best price were in someone's garage, not on a dealers lot.

1997-2000 EBCM failure.

Mic Drop

If you are buying a C5, get a 2001 or later. FACT

I have a 14 with 35k, no problems at all knock on wood. I've been pleasantly surprised!

Surprised nobody mentioned the first year C6 with manual transmission steering column lock debacle.
I hope all the other reports are true, I just got a 2014 M7 3LT Z51 with 37K on it two months ago. Trouble free so far....

Well, technically................ That plagued all years of the C5 as well. I believe that is part of the components that were carried over to the C6, so technically that would be a C5 problem........
