Why do I think a Corvette is a waste for daily street driving?

How did this "Miata's are for girls" thing ever get started? Is it just the name? I mean really.. It's a car. The car doesn't car who drives it.
It's fine if you "wouldn't be caught dead" in one, but you gotta give the Miata respect for what it's achieved in 30 years. And the engineering that goes into them, should be admired.
Here's Savagegeese's review of the 16 MX-5. He puts it on a lift and goes over the undercarriage. You might be surprised with the extra love Mazda gives this car

People insecure about their masculinity invariably look for a scapegoat, someone they can feel "bigger than." Miata owners, Prius owners, etc. In the 1970s it used to be guys who owned/drove VW bugs.
A buddy of mine (Rich Fletcher) raced Dodge Neons, often pitted against Miatas. You think he was in love with Neons?
Chrysler gave him more money for winning races than other mfr's would. Helped pay for his racing habit. Didn't hurt HIS feelings when everyone told him what they thought about Neons as he continued to collect his checks.

What I find interesting is many of the guys here that rag on Miatas probably log 1k miles a year on their Vettes and have a stroke if it gets rained on or...gasp... has to be driven in temps under 60 😂😂😂

Shhh! Quiet! Let them keep thinking that. It gives me a never ending supply of low mile low cost Miatas to play with.

Let me get this straight, if you buy a Corvette then you are insecure about your masculinity and you are trying to compensate for something. Then if you don't like Miatas then you are also insecure with your masculinity. I guess all us Vette owners have masculinity issues. So I guess that means that guys who drive a Miata are manly men who are very secure with their masculinity. Then why do most of the Miatas I see are being driven by women? Now I'm really confused and I may have to see a shrink about my masculinity.
Aren't there forums for Miata owners? I'm probably not man enough to go on there. I'll ask my wife to go check it out for me.

Yeah; now I'm really confused.
I've owned 4 Chargers in a row since 2007 and have been on the Charger Forum since June of 2007. Have yet to single a single thread of some dude joining the forum to talk about how he test drove a Charger and it's too big, too heavy, too powerful and has too many doors. He'd be run off the forum. But here we're supposed all join hands and sing Kumbaya with this Miata fanboy? I don't get it.
Also LOL at 460 HP being too much for a street car. My SRT has 485 HP and I drive it year round every day even in the winter and I live in Canada. I just bought a Z06 and it's no problem at all for me to drive on the street. Yet I'm a complete tool. OK, kids.

C7 doesn’t have too much power...as long as you keep control of your right foot. The street manners are great but it can also be a beast.
Spring Mountain was mentioned here and I agree, it’s a great place. I was driving a stingray there last week and had a great time. The car kept up with the Z06’s but I could have used a little more power on the long straightaway. I shifted from 3rd to 4th at redline and had it floored, coming into a sharp corner at 115. Hard brake, wait for the turning cone and dive in..what a blast. The z51 held its own. I would doubt that any Miata would drive like that. The C7 is a race car with good manners.

Nope, I have 2 Corvettes I daily, I take them to work most often over my Nissan Armada or Mercedes E400.
The last cars I would ever consider buying are a PT Cruiser, VW Beetle and the Miata, so different strokes for different folks.

You wouldn't consider a Miata? You must have masculinity issues just like Flex!

I find that where I live it is scary to drive any car with out a sub 6 second 0 to 60 time. To many bad drivers in which you get left in bad situations if you can't move quickly. That's not to mention the several no merge lane merges where I live where you have to instantly accelerate to depending on which merge anywhere from 45 to 65 mph to get into traffic. The 65 mph one is extra scary since cars are traveling even faster and you have to take off from a dead stop and rarely is there a gap more than 2 bus lengths. It also sits right before 2 exits so traffic is cutting across from the left while you try to enter.
I have a car with the GM 2.0T and that is the slowest I would ever want to have. I have an older truck and where I live it is truly scary to drive due to its slower acceleration.
