Can you add Stabil a second time and buy more life?
As the subject says, let's say you add the right amount of Stabil to some fresh gas. Supposed to be good for a year. Before the year is up, can you repeat and add more?
If Stabil is -replacing- something that ages out, it makes perfect sense that it would be true. But if Stabil is just -slowing- some degenerative process, then it wouldn't make any sense.
Since I don't really know what Stabil does or how it works, I have no idea what the answer is (though I suspect the answer is "pour it in your wife's warrantied truck and buy some fresh gas for your generator cans").

If you're using less than a tank of fuel in a year you should sell the thing.

I'm thinking he isn't talking about his Vette.

OP's been starting like a dozen threads a day in the Off Topic for the last week now suddenly he's too shy to post OT stuff there again?
I has a confused.....

Why so cranky? I figured my fuel storage and whether I should burn that 5 gallons mixed into my C7Z Vette seemed apropos for a Vette forum. I mean what if you mix 5 gallons of "expired" 92 into 15 gallons of "new" 92? What do you get? Should you burn that in a Fuel Injected vehicle? One under warranty to be safe? If not, how do you dispose of it? Seems valid to me.
If you think questions about Stabil and gasoline are OT in a car forum, then I leave you to read all about sales on car covers, Mike Furman's inventory, bent rims, that little $80 shelf you can buy for your cubby, A8 vs M7 (yet again), and other "important" stuff I might be taking bandwidth from, lol...
As per usual, a bunch of people are clever enough to COMMENT on the question and offer an opinion on the OP, but not answer the question usefully, in typical CF fashion.

He also will take somebody's new thread and pose the same question starting a new thread 1 day later like he did to me.

Maybe this will help with your question:
How long will Stabil keep gas good?
How long will Stabil keep gas good?
The shelf life of all STA-BIL® brand products is 2 years after the bottle has been opened, provided it has been tightly capped and stored in a cool, dry place. It will not harm anything if you use an old bottle of STA-BIL® brand, it just may not be as effective.

Not an unfair question. And if you have old fuel what do you do with it? Now, plenty of the guys in the PRC section would say just dump it on the ground. I'm not so selfish and stupid as to do that but still, what do you do with it? I had about 8 gallons of really old fuel from my Fury. Disgusting smelling, and the car ran like crap. I tried burning a cup but it looked like a 747 just crashed into my driveway. So that was out. I wound up filtering it through some coffee filters to remove any sediments, and put a quart at a time into my car provided by work. Being that my work car was driven 100 miles a day it didn't take too long to get rid of it. Car ran the same but mileage dropped a bit according to the trip computer. The car was retired at 140,000 miles and no fuel-related problems ever occurred.
Stabil seems to have given me about a two year lifespan on typical pump gas.
The stationary engineers at work used to get rid of pretty much any flammable liquid by burning it along with the now-discontinued #6 fuel oil. Everything burned in there!

When I first read your post I assumed you were talking about the fuel in your Vette. Your vague reference to generator cans was lost on me. Hence my first response.

If you've got a photo I post it with "Our Founder" underneath it if I do it again.

"though I suspect the answer is "pour it in your wife's warrantied truck and buy some fresh gas for your generator cans")." which I clearly meant as an alternative to pouring it in your good car. Would you like a diagram? If so, explain to me (a) why it matters and (b) why you matter and (c) how your randomness in this thread isn't any worse.

If you want to answer a question, do it here. If you want to ramble needlessly on about the OP, go back to Off Topic.
You have FIVE POSTS in this short thread alone whining... quit it, please.

I think this is a good question.
For example in a Vette...
Jan 01, 2001 filled tank w/ fuel added Stabil.
Drove 120 miles during the year...did not refill tanks.
Jan 01, 2002 half tank of fuel remaining w/ one year
old Stabil (which post above indicates still has "life")
in the fuel.
The question seems to be at year 2002 (if Stabil's life expired) can another dose of Stabil be added?
Maybe best asked of Stabil themselves?
FWIW I like storing with full tanks to limit moisture/ rust yet kind of agree with some posts above
that this car needs to be driven more. Yes, draining a Vette's full fuel tank into containers is a
burden, I don't envy that task.

I dont see how adding more will sufficiently extend life of the gasoline.

I let you have the last word 4 days ago, and you bump the thread replying to one of my posts that you already replied to. I already admitted I didn't understand your OP and I haven't posted in this thread since Sunday. What more do you want from me?
