I was in the same shoes you are in.
I'm 35, any of the younger folks on here I think will appreciate the GTR more than the older folks. They don't call it "Godzilla" for no reason, the GTR is an amazing car. It has also been around for a LONG time just like the corvette.
A few of my friends have them and I always wanted one.
When I was in the market for buying a sports car, it was between the C7 Z06 and the GTR. I never even went to test drive the GTR, the standard transmission was the deal breaker. I had to have a manual.
If you are not familiar with the GTR, read up on it. Its a beast of a car. I do agree that it doesn't stand out like a Z06, but I don't think its ugly by any means.

Wow, a lot of strong feelings on this, and what appears to be some based upon no first hand experience. I have owned two GT-R's previously a 2009 and a 2014. When I sat behind the wheel of Godzilla I felt like I owned the road in front of me. AWD hooked like nobody's business. Quite frankly no other vehicles before those or after evoked the same feeling. The car was just so darned quick and fast! As for looks, that's subjective. Plenty of cargo space and two seats in the back (admittedly not for full sized adults!). It has a dedicated snow setting. I currently own a '19 Grand Sport 3LT in Sebring Orange and it certainly does get a lot of looks, more so than I thought owning a Corvette would. It's a beautiful car. I like both vehicles.
