New purchase.... Z06 or GTR....???
I own my third Corvette at the moment (2015 Z51 package 3LT). Due to a recent collision, I am looking to purchase a new car soon. I have narrowed the field to two cars, a new 2019 Z06 and a new 2019 Nissan GTR. The funny thing is I haven't driven either of them yet. I know I would love the Z06, but the GTR has always been kind of a dream car of mine. I know they are two different animals, but my main question(s) is; Do any of you on this forum own one? Have you ever owned one? Have you ever driven one? There is not a new 2019 GTR within 1,000 miles of me right now but the local dealer said they could get one for me in the color I want. Please help with your experience and input.. Thanks!

Mr. Smith You might try a google on this question if you do not get many responses. It has been asked and answered by quite a few on this Forum on other similar posts. Good Luck with whatever you decide.

GTR is an all wheel drive beast and on the ugly side as far as looks go. The Z06 is both a beauty and a beast. For me obviously it was and is the Z06.

There is a head to head comparison on you tube, those drivers picked the GTR the AWD is an advantage for the gtr price might determine your choice as the GTR starts at $151k and the Vette around $80 but equipped will be around $102k still a savings of $49k. Your money your choice

Never heard of a GTR. I thought it might be a Porsche model. I guess I didn’t weigh my options when I bought my C7. No remorse here with the C7.
I doubt anybody on this forum is going to recommend a Nissan. Just as nobody on the GTR forum will tell you to buy a C7.
if you like the GTR, get it.

Also, if you buy a new C7, you get a big discount to a 2 day training session at Spring Mountain. If you buy the car and go there, you will be very happy you chose the C7. You will learn how to drive the car and then, take a few hot laps with an instructor driving. You will be amazed how great the C7 handles. My assumption is that the Nissan would be destroyed in a few laps.

Easy decision for me, the C7, however your're the one whose trying to chose between the two.

I'm sure the GTR is a fine car and certainly very capable performance wise, but the styling of the Z06, the price savings and the dealer support network would lead me to the Z06. But, if you have always wanted a GTR, go for it.

I agree for sure on the Z06 also like the OP has said these are two diff cars all together. OP just need to think on this long and hard before making up your mind.

I have driven both cars, and they are both fast but entirely different as far as driving dynamics are concerned. First off, although it's a serious car, in my opinion the GTR is just plain butt ugly, but if you're looking to go fast with basically no effort, the GTR is probably for you. In some instances the GTR is quicker due to its AWD system, but on a track the ZO6 will eat its lunch. On the other hand, if you enjoy driving your sports car rather than having it drive itself, the ZO6 is the better choice, and I think 99% of those out there will agree the ZO6 is the better looking car. As far as sound is concerned, the GTR sounds like a vacuum cleaner on steroids, while the ZO6 has that nice V8 roar if that's your thing. Depending on the Dealer, the GTR may cost a bit more and in driving both cars I found that with the ZO6's Mag Ride system the ride of the ZO6 is better and in normal driving also quieter. All in all, it's personal choice for you, but I have a new ZO6 7 speed manual coupe sitting in my garage.

I'm almost positive that most of the responders have never driven a GTR. Once you have, that car will blow your mind. I love the R34 to be honest. There is something about that style I love. The current model R35 (GTR) is still the Godzilla of the roads that other manufacturers try to find an answer for. It handles better and is faster than the Z06. You've already owned vettes... try something new but the Nismo will cost you.
