Elkhart Blue vs. Torch Red
#41
Corvettes need to be red. The blue is a nice color if you don't want to be noticed. You don't buy a Corvette to not be noticed.

You know, I would have agreed with this before I bought my Admiral Blue. All my other vettes have been red, black, or white. Never dreamed I would have a blue car. Funny thing is, I've had more comments and compliments on this blue vette than any of the others. I DO agree though that red is a great color in a Corvette.

To me the RED looks cheap and plastic - Chevy should have done a better selection on the red. (JUST MY opinion) the BLUE has depth and contrasts - I would go with the Blue all day long.
I hope Chevy comes up with a deeper red as I do like red.
I also not a fan of the "PRIMER GRAY" which appears to be the new popular color. The wife said as we passed a dealer " why did they park a car in primer in the front like that - " I laughed……..it was a BEE-MER

I would probably go with the blue - even though I just bought a TR one.

I liked the blue, until I saw mcMulkins picture this am. I kinda felt seasick. And then I noticed something. the blue won't stay blue. the metallic bits in the blue paint brings all sorts of shades into the paint. not an issue with non-metallic TR. also, in a sea of blue, which one POPS? It's not TR, but close enough for govt work for this example. lastly, combined with the predominate interior color and detail bits from the factory, you got blue and black, a bruise? Red and black, keeps the eye moving around the car looking at the red pieces framed by the black bits, an amusement park ride for the eyes. TR it is for me.

Blue is my favorite color too and I never considered a red car, but when I saw my red GS I was in love. Its a color that definitely gets you attention whether you want it or not. I often kid that driving this car is like hanging out with a celebrity.

Until I saw my TR sitting on the dealer lot. In person, the TR really is striking. It makes the car look exotic. It's very similar to some Ferrari reds, since it had some orange. I've been asked if it's a Ferrari. Not sure any other color would get that as much. But it does kinda look like a 812 Superfast.
I have never had so many looks with a car... Selfies taken, kids literally hanging out of car windows, necks cranking... It's unbelievable.

You just can't beat the way the torch red looks in bright sunshine. It just pops and it has a touch of orange that I really like. With contrasting carbon flash side skirts, splitter, spoiler and hood stripe it looks awesome. The blue looks great but for a sports car it's pretty boring.

One thing to be said for Blue is that it seems to be one of the rarest colors for Corvettes, while red is probably the most popular.
So if you want to be a little different......
