Neither. I'd wait for the car of my choice.

Wow the resale on the 3LT is horrible. Almost the same as the 1LT. If they are all in the same condish, and luxury options were important to me, I'd get the 3LT. But the leather peeling is a known issue. Hate to get stuck with that.

Concerning the 3LT dash issues. Cost to replace runs around $3,000. Find out the in service date of the vehicle to see how much -if any - factory 3/36 mile warranty might be remaining.
FYI: Extended warranties don’t cover trim/dash parts.

Well, I have Z51 2LT. Easy call for me since I track mine occasionally. I also thoroughly enjoy the Z51 on annual, 2 week cross country road trips.

You seem to enjoy cruise ins. If no track, then the base 2LT is the one for you.

just don't ever take it on a track. If you do, you will have a blast, but will likely begin to regret not getting the Z51
Much as i regret that the Grand Sport was not available when i got my 2016.

Enjoy!

There are countless used C7s. Keep looking and you’ll eventually find the car in the color, options, etc., that you desire.

Only way you will ever know what is most important to you is to drive them. Exactly what I did and because of the ample supply of both new and used cars right now there is no reason to pull the trigger on the first cars you see. Again, test drive, test drive, test drive.... Then focus on just the car you want and the price you are willing to pay. The deals are really good right now and will be for awhile.

In service date 5/16 Napa Ca. They say local trade . Napa is not a hot part of Ca.

Default z51 vs base stingray

I think if you are going to take your Corvette to the track then get the Z51, and if you are not going to track the car get the base Stingray. For me, I'm not going to track the car so I got the Base Stingray, 2lt, convertible, mag ride, and manual shift. Love the car, and drive it with top down most of the time. I did have a rear sway bar installed. To each his own. It depends on what you are going to do with the car. My base car with mag ride, in track mode, is no slouch though, and it's a blast to drive.

z51 rocks. Best deal out there

Depends on whether you like the wide-body or not as Z51 with MRC is within approx $3000 of what the Grandsport costs with which you get the wide-body and lots other performance features.

Z51/2LT is what I have on the Corvette (M7) I took delivery on exactly two years, 14,500 miles ago. Fantastic car in every respect, just about the perfect sports car, and faster than 99.5% of the cars on the road today. Better looking than almost all of them. And amazingly practical, easy to live with and cheap to own for such a very high performance car. Zero problems.

My dentist (who is young at around 40) picked up a 2017 grand sport manual 1lt last year brand new from Les Standfort for 56888. I called the dealer after he finished my first root canal and let him take my z51 1LT for a ride up the palasades pkwy and he was hooked. Get the z51 or grandsport..

he flew from NJ to detroit ...bought the car and had an epic weekend trip home.

he is still smiling.

To me...z51 or grand sport first...then 1LT

I'd personally wait until I could get both Z51 and 2LT. In my case they were both required on my car and I don't track it.

Keep looking you can find BOTH... If you get a 16+, the front cameras are a godsend. The 10 speaker system is better than the 9 speaker system, HUD, cooled seats. (the heat aspect is pretty weak..)

Myself I bought a 2016 1lt coupe. my wife said why did you buy that coupe when you always had verts, after 3 months I took the hit and traded it for my 2017 2lt vert, because number 1 a vert 2. HUD 3. front cameras. The Z51 would be nice if for nothing more then the bigger and better brakes. I don't race or track the car it's my coffee and donut car. I'm retired

Besides, with everything else being equal a 1LT Z51 will typically bring more than a 2LT base Stingray.
Dealerships sell more 1LTs and 2LTs for one reason only - they are cheaper and help move an expensive car quickly. Regardless if you like/own a 3LT, its the most expensive option at $8,000...so to cut costs they market and sell 1LTs and 2LTs. $8,000 is a HUGE increase in price - so many dont opt to do it. Dropping from a 3LT to a 1LT can save around $160 / month on a payment (if we estimate around $20 per $1000 in a monthly payment)...for some folks that amount is the difference between their wives saying NO WAY and BUY IT... Lets be honest, we see a few posts here where 1LT owners wished they had bought a 3LT - have you ever seen a post of a 3LT owner wishing they had a 1LT?

Really? How about all those who don't purchase 3LTs because they don't want the inadequate navigation, PDR and upgraded leather with risk of dash cracking/shrinking?
The 3LT option costs $9,745 (except Z06) not $8000.
Show me a post where a 1LT owner states they wished they had purchased a 3LT?
I expect there's lots of 3LT owners with complete dashes being pulled out and some having to pay $3000+ in repair bills for dash replacements that wish they had not purchased the 3LT.

You posted the other day that you only purchase 'used cars', however if you were to order a new C7 would you purchase the $9745 3LT trim package?

Perhaps you and Skid Row Joe should start your own 3LT forum.
