Default Z51 or 2LT ?

Thinking of moving up to a C-7 . If there were two 2016 C-7's almost the same in everything and one was a Z51, 1LT and the other was a non Z51 but a 2LT which one would you buy and why ?? Mileage and price about the same . Car will never be tracked ,just a fun car .

Easy-peasy (for me anyway), the Z51 as I purchase sportscars for the performance, not the semi-luxury gadgets.
Besides, it's not as if the 1LT is a stripped down economy car.

1LT includes:
8” touchscreen, Bose AM-FM 9 speaker stereo, 3 month Sirius/XM,MP3, MyLink, OnStar, 4G LTE, 8” HD driver info screen, leather power GT sports seats, power break set/release, power locks/windows, active handling, dual-zone AC, keyless access/start, power tilt/telescopic, leather wrap steering w/flat bottom wheel, cruise control, tire pressure monitor, driver, passenger and side airbags, carbon fiber hood, Bremo 4-piston disc brakes, rear view camera, coup- body color painted carbon fiber roof panels, convertible- power soft-top which can be lowered remotely.

In my limited experience being a two month C7 owner for the first time, I see two groups. Horsepower/track is one and the other is my group of Touring and never track. Decide your group and that will help. I have a 2014 base Stingray 3LT with performance exhaust and chrome wheels. The 460 HP is more than can be used on most roads and is so much fun to drive I do so at every chance I get. Did so today for no apparent reason other than this is the best car I have ever owned or ever care to own. I have no need for extra differential cooling and a dry sump oil system. But, I do like the Z51 wheels. PS, you can't go wrong.

I wish there was a way for me to say Z51 AND 2LT... The Z51 gives you the most "performance" bang for your buck...but a 1LT is not that desirable in the resale market. A 2LT will be more desirable but its just a base Vette...

I guess cause I would want more bells and whistles and I never track my car - I would do the non-Z51 2LT...but Im gritting my teeth as Im typing this... I personally couldn't do a 1LT regardless of the model or price...

Can I just be honest - I would keep looking... Cause if you get the Z51 your going to wish you got a 2LT (or even a 3LT)...and if you get the 2LT, your going to wish you got the Z51... Dont downplay what you want...a Z51 / 2LT is the better choice over both of those cars - why skimp on what you want? Be patient and get the car you REALLY want... Best of Luck!

Another thing about the Z51 is it has a different suspension than the base. My base Stingray has the F1 suspension and when you look it up that means soft ride. That is what I wanted and that is what I got.

I bought a brand new 2018 1LT base stingray M7 about 10 months ago and put almost 8000 miles on it so far. EASY choice for me would be Z51 over a base with 2LT.

You dont "need" to track a z51 to be rewarded by the upgraded cooling - gear ratios and suspension over a base car.

If you’re going to be honest with yourself and not track the car like you said, the non-Z51 is more than enough car for street driving and a fun weekend toy. I’d be willing to bet that the majority of Corvette owners never come close to pushing these cars near their limits. With that being said, go for the 2LT as that will get you some nice interior upgrades which will enhance the overall experience. Especially HUD which in my opinion is necessary.
Either way, you can’t really go wrong. Good luck and make sure to post photos once you pull the trigger.

I don't agree as 1LTs are desirable in both new and resale markets. The #1 and #2 Corvette volume dealers in the world wouldn't carry so many 1LTs in inventory if they won't.
Besides, with everything else being equal a 1LT Z51 will typically bring more than a 2LT base Stingray.

Exactly, as I don't feel it's so much about the HP and how fast it will take you, but more the handling, steering, breaking and suspension and the feel and overall driving experience.
That's why I like the GS so much.

Z51 all day long. So many performance parts to tear around on country roads. That's my arena. I'd like mag ride and NPP exhaust as well.

2016 blue Z51 w/3lt. Seems a no brainer for the lower mileage and price. Happy hunting!

You're a smart fella. Let other people pay the profits with the luxury add-on's. I like race cars.

Personally, I would go with #1 or #2 depending primarily on overall condition and whether you prefer red or white. Overall condition is very important to me and one thing I've learned from buying/collecting/investing/selling sportscars for over 40 years is that mileage (high or low) is no guarantee of condition.
#3 looks appealing, however I'd be hesitant of the 3LT leather dash peeling/cracking and the potential hassle and expense of getting that repaired down the road.

The Z51 with 3LT seems to be a bargain on paper... go test drive it.

Yep, seems so, perhaps the dash is already cracking. But seriously, you can't just look at few details and a price and determine which is best buy, you have to see it, and hopefully, not just in photos.

No question I would go for the z51 car.

heavy duty cooling and suspension parts have greater durability over time.

just add whatever luxury items for the interior later on if you actually feel you need them.

z51 rocks. Best deal out there
