Default That feeling when you welcome any excuse to go for a drive

I picked up my C7 Z06 on November 10; it spent a week in my driveway then I put it in storage. I drove it to work once and to the gym once. That was it.

But it was nice on Thursday and the storage unit is near my office so I went an fetched it. It'll go back tomorrow probably as I need my 4-door car for taking our kids with us to family events over Christmas.

So when Mrs Flex said she need to hit a bank to get some cash tonight I jumped at the chance. Also took some pics. I love this car. She does too. I've had some nice cars since we've been together but I don't think she ever liked any of them the way she likes this one.

Anyway while she was in the bank I took some pics; I really like this one:

Me too. Makes this a 100% guilt-free indulgence.

She actually tells me she likes it without me asking. Unlike my SRT. It's way too loud for her I think.

OH man! You know how I feel about our Scat What'd you do to the exhaust? We just replaced the midmuffler with bullets.

SOLO Performance 3" cat-back. No mufflers, no resonators. Just J-pipes at the back to eliminate the drone. It's LOUD AF. Like even I thought it was over the top by the 2nd day after I got it done but too late. LOL.

We've been doing a major IT project at work and every time we have all the consultants and people from Corporate I take everyone out to dinner. Everyone walks right past my car they don't want to go with me unless the other cars driving are full and they have no choice.

Vid does not do it justice but here's a cold start and suffice to say my neighbors hate me:

Hum, reminds me, my wife hasn't even been in my GS in the 18 months I've had it, I need to take her for a ride over the Holidays.

I bought my new C7 to drive it. That's why I bought it. Drive it every day!

.Why wouldn't you or anybody not drive yours every day?? Seems like a waste not to.

I owned a couple Corvettes in my 20's but it's been 25 years or so and I am totally enjoying having this beast and yes I feel like a newbie whenever I drive it.

She's just not a car person and I've had a lot of cool sportscars including many Corvettes. It's like, "hey honey I got a new Corvette convertible today"; "oh, that's nice".
Now my kids, grand kids and son-in-laws love them. We've got some free time over the Holidays so I will take her for a spin. I think she will like it. She seemed to like my DeLoreans most of all.

Nothing wrong with wanting to drive the car every chance you get. I think a lot of us are of that mindset.

My GS brings a smile to my face every time I drive it or even just look at it. Lately just from looking at car. She is in winter storage. FLEXjs agree about the snow ,sleet ,salt. Also great looking Corvette ! Enjoy !

At this time of year I take my C7 out every chance I get, as long as the roads are dry and free of salt. I took it out this morning though and regretted it afterwards as I didn't think they would have salted the roads around here since we didn't get any precipitation overnight but for some reason they felt it was necessary. It wasn't a massive amount of salt, but it still made me angry. I cleaned the paint up afterwards and I'll give it a few more days for the salt to dissipate and I'll start driving it a lot more later this week while I'm off work for the holidays. The 7 day forecast still looks pretty good around here, much better than what we had last year at this time (remember we got 20cm of snow dumped on us between Dec 21-25)

Yeah my Z06 is like a purring little kitten compared to the roar of my SRT, I have a Borla X-Pipe for it so that might wake it up a bit. Just gotta find some time to install it.

PIA To have to do a SALT watch. But I know how you Feel I know it's mass produced. It's my 63 Split window i didn't want to purchase because of their ride comfort and lack of,well alot. Hate a friggen mark on it.
I can't afford to trade and lose or replace. No salt yesterday. We had a little flurry last nite. Cause some can't drive even on rails. We probably got a nice Dumping of Salt ****.Yup,Pissed

Any excuse to Drive is a Good One if Road is Clean and above 30 degrees
