In this case, like the issue with the A8 driveline due to AFM, we're talking about a real, serious design flaw. It is a serious issue and it is widespread. This is evidenced by the many TSBs chevy has gone through and the upcoming promise for a new fix after the new year rolls around. And these cars have only been out for 4 or 5 years and the vast majority of them see very little mileage each year - if these cars were driven as much as the average model, this issue would be even more prevalent and more obvious. I hope chevy comes up with a real fix for this, but it looks like to me they are applying bandaids and hoping all the cars get past warranty.
Now as for the C8, I just don't like how it looks, mostly because it was designed for the mid engine. The rear end is just way too big, it looks like a kardashian after the holidays. Maybe it will grow on me, but I loved the C7 from the first time I saw it. And even if I loved the looks of the C8, there is no way in hell I'd buy an early model after seeing some of the tech issues with the C7, especially when the C8 is all new - i read that it's already being delayed due to electrical issues. Luckily I'm really happy with my 19 GS right now.

Of course, no one knows for sure yet, but if the C8 is indeed the ME, and if the price comes in, as I suspect, starting around $100,000, then no. Too rich for a working man like me. Kudos to those with the means to afford it, though.
I guess my answer is -- unknown. I can't commit an unknown amount of money to car with unknown features, unknown engineering, and unknown price, to be released in an unknown timeframe.

I’m always on board with new technology, and the C8 should have that. Mid engine handling and increased performance over the C7 and I will buy one with one caveat, price. 100K is a no go in fact the base model better be less than 70K or I’m out.

Those, and if there's no convertible. It may end up as a no-go but we'll see. Hatchback and auto transmission Corvettes just aren't fun to drive. Or so it seems to many Corvette owners.

If I get a sudden influx of unanticipated funds it MIGHT happen, but I'm not really through wringing out the C7 yet. Running through the gears with the top down is not something I want to give up either. But never say never.

55 Years old, most I ever had at 1 time was 6. Some were bought and sold as flippers. Others were investment grade cars and when life's changes happened, they came and went depending on my cash flow. But I have almost always had at least 2 since I turned 18. One for special occasions/show, the other one to drive.
Funny, we had the conversation over Xmas, which cars I wish I still had, was a short list. '54 (Survivor), My 1st: '65 Roadster (ISCA Class Champion '86 & '87), '73 Cpe (wife's favorite) '66/425 Cpe. (took to Top Flight) and the '02 Z06 I currently have (It is my garage queen) The rest come and go.....

Funding my purchases are not a challenge, thank God I've been Blessed. The only problem is that I can only drive one of my vehicles at a time! I really do delight in driving them all! !

A trusted friend of mine has owned hundreds of Corvettes. He's mid 70s. It's a story of the great love of the Corvette !

Perhaps a 2nd-hand C7 Z06, manual shift, but later on, not now.
If I get a mid-engine, it's going to be a Porsche.

I've been rowing gears in cars for 62 years....3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 on the floor, three and four on the tree.... switching back and forth between the platforms just isn't a problem.

While both of my current cars and standard shift (C7 and 328 GTB Ferrari)..... automatics aren't so bad. The paddle shifts work well, but most people won't take the couple of hours it takes to become proficient with them.
