Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax

Safety Car
I looked for some this weekend but couldn't find any locally. I currently use Fast Finish but the Hybrid Ceramic looks even easier. The concept of just rinsing with water to activate it just seems crazy. I also use Turtle Wax Wash & Dry which works on a wet car thus saving you a step.

I have been using Meguiar's Ultimate Fast Finish since it came out and have had great results with it, but this stuff looks even easier to use and being a hybrid ceramic it probably offers a bit more protection too. I'll definitely be giving this stuff a try as soon as I can get my hands on it!

- This guy used it in a different manner - maybe this is better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDxNmf6-OYs
I never use the spray on / spray off method for any product.

If it's Meguiars it's worth a try in my opinion. I'm a huge Meguiar's fan.

FWIW, I just popped over to Meguiar's Online to see more info on this stuff and according to their Product and Training Specialist Nick Winn this product was designed as a spray on/rinse off product:
Here is that thread:

You could call this a spray wax, but it is not applied quite the same as a spray wax. Hybrid Ceramic Wax is used by, first washing the vehicle, and then prior to rinsing, HCW is applied over the exterior of the vehicle, and then, it is recommended to rinse with a strong stream of water, and then dry. The product is not designed to be sprayed onto a dry panel, and then dry wiped. And yes, protection, in addition to the water beading.

Happy New Years! As soon as I can find this product, and find a warm enough day to do it, I'll definitely try it and report back here!

It looks like it just hit the market a few weeks ago though, so perhaps in the new year we'll start seeing it show up on the shelves of Walmart. One thing that was odd though was that Walmart carried Meguiar's Ultimate Fast Finish when it first came out but earlier this year they stopped carrying it and put it on clearance (and I grabbed a couple of cans for about half of the original selling price) Maybe most consumers found the Fast Finish stuff too confusing though because it was an aerosol spray, but maybe this new product will appeal to people a bit more.

Im not questioning the directions - but in some of the videos, when the car was wet, and it was just sprayed on, to me it didn't seem like it truly "covered" the car. How can the product "penetrate" if its sitting on top of a water bead? To me that method would leave small areas that were missed - meaning the protection wouldn't be a uniformly / evenly spread as the dry method. Does that make sense?
FYI - as of this AM, it was in stock at Amazon for $18

I call BS on most of the "latest & greatest" stuff that seems (to me) to be more the result of meetings of marketing departments than R&D. Wondrous "new" developments on a regular, almost timed-basis (perhaps, similar to the newest, wonderous version of Windows? ).
Now, don't get me wrong, I use a number of Mac's products, have for years, and I must say their tech support is second to none, but I'm not convinced spraying anything on a wet car is the "answer." I grew up on a cattle ranch as a kid and we used some pretty big "grains of salt" (aka: salt licks). Just saying...

I can't believe anyone would spend the time to wash, clay and decontaminate as mentioned in the video and then use a $14.99 questionable product as the final step.
I must be missing something?

I just watched Brian at Apex Detail do a YouTube review of this product. It seemed unremarkable. He said it did offer some protection but the gloss and hydrophobic properties where nothing special. See what you think.
