Default My new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires

This just shows the tread difference from the OEM on a 2019 GS with 10,500 miles.

I will report back once I get them on my Forgeline wheels and on my car.

Nice! I'm interested to find out if they reduce road noise and do they cut down on throwing road debris/pebbles beneath the car.

Yes they do. I've been running them for a week now. They are more comfortable than my run flats on my Z51 without MRC. The car feels a lot more stable in cold temperature and rain. I feel like the car is planted.

I have had them on my Z for a little over 3K miles, and I can say the car to me handles as good if not better than the MPSS that came on the car. Three major improvements are:
(1) No more Ackermen affect when turning.
(2) No more picking up every rock in the road
(3) No more sliding off the road when the temp is 50 degrees or less.

I just a 200 mile trip to the NC mountains yesterday with a departure temp of 28 degrees & the tires held with no slip or slide like the MPSS, I can now drive the car year round and not be afraid of losing the car with mild amount of throttle. Tire noise to me is about the same as the MPSS, but a different noise as now the tire has a tread instead of being slick, so now there is a bit of a wine at slower speeds, but the car rides better than ever, especially with the MAG ride up date.

Yes, they do, and they are awesome. Not only do they not toss nearly as much road debris, and they do not chatter in tight turns, they have remarkable traction in cold and wet. I just drove 100 miles RT in heavy, heavy rain today at 40ºF, and they are nothing short of remarkable.

Corvette Tires - Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ (Plus) ZP

The Pilot Sport A/S 3+ (Plus) ZP (Zero Pressure) is an Ultra High Performance All-Season run-flat tire member of Michelin's Pilot family of low profile, high-speed tires developed for the drivers of high-end sports cars, sporty coupes and sedans looking for total performance combined with temporary continued mobility after a puncture has allowed a complete loss of air pressure. The Pilot Sport A/S 3+ ZP tire is designed to provide Michelin's highest level of ultra-high all-season performance, emphasizing dry road handling and wet road grip with balanced all-season traction for occasional light snow.

Pilot Sport A/S 3+ ZP tires feature Michelin's Helio+ compound made with sunflower oil combined with their Extreme Silica Technology to increase traction at low temperatures and on wet roads. Molded into an aggressive asymmetric tread pattern inspired by the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, its 4-, 5- or 6-rib designs* are tuned to complement tire width and feature more rubber and rigid blocks on their outboard shoulders to provide high levels of lateral grip that offer as much dry cornering capability as some competitive summer performance tires. Wide circumferential grooves help resist hydroplaning, enhance wet traction and help generate some of the shortest wet braking distances in the Ultra High Performance All-Season category.

Variable Contact Patch 3.0 technology derived from Michelin's experience in endurance racing focuses on evenly spreading contact patch pressures and temperatures. The tire's internal structure includes two high-tensile, lightweight steel cord belts reinforced with spirally wrapped polyamide cord to combine predictable handling and high-speed durability with treadwear and ride comfort, and the reinforced sidewall inserts are designed to temporarily support the weight of the vehicle, even after a loss of air pressure.

*Tread design rib counts are identified on the tire's Specs tab.

You will love them. I put them (PS3+ AS ZP) on my 2019 GS. No more skipping and no more worrying about the temperature. I think the ride quality is better and road noise is a bit reduced.

What I am wanting is the same tire that is on my 2017 Z-51, only not run-flats. These are "summer tires" which suit me fine, as I don't or wouldnt drive it anyway at 40 degrees or lower.

It is my understanding that the Z06 has summer tires but they are not run flats, but I am not sure.

Ken

Nice! Also, can you remind us which Forgelines you went with? I'm getting the itch

I recently installed them on my 2014 Z51 with MRC and they work just as well in 30 degree temps as the summer only did in 80 degree temps. And now I can drive her all year round with no worries!

I have a 2019 GS...have concern over the"magnetic" attraction my OEM tires have With stones/pebbles being thrown all over...when I hear it, it makes me cringe...what is the best price you have seen for a set of front and rear A/S.? Considering purchasing a set for spring change. Thanks

Unless you track the car, the PS3+ A/S will treat you well. And they ARE less sticky (and therefore less prone to throwing crap up)

Man, that is one blah-looking tread pattern. Wish the Contr extreme contrac DWS's were available in ZP.

I have the AS 3+ zp’s on my z51. The other night it was 25 outside and I decided to see what acceleration I had on an old taxiway concrete with some grit on it.

Did 4.2 sec zero to 60. Not bad Also pulled .9 g on an on ramp I’m familiar with. Didn’t get squirrelly at all.

Tonight it is raining hard here. Again no issues.
