Default 2020 C7 timeline

The C8 is a foggy timeline but should a 2020 C7 be confirmed later this year?

GM bought a lot of time by starting to build 2019 Corvettes in January of 2018. Anything's possible at this point insofar as when/if a 2020 C7, is, or isn't made..

I would not be surprised if GM skips the 2020s and issues the C8 as a 2021 early in 2020 ala 1983.

This just another C8 speculation thread. No shortage of those in the C8 area. I don’t even go over there anymore. It’s like reading Yahoo finance.

You can say that again! And even better is the "reactions" posted by the people living in the funny farm. OMG!

Its far worse on the Facebook corvette groups. A new speculation thread every hour. lol. Everyone talking prices, trims and horsepower like its sitting at their local dealership.

That's certainly a possibility and wouldn't surprise me either, as you say there was a similar situation with the C4 debut.

They just confirmed today in regards to the 2019 Special Edition Grand Sports that they will be available for order in the Spring. I assume this probably means they are extending the 2019 model year run to sometime this Summer or early Fall.

Basically this allows GM more time to sell the many unsold C7s sitting on dealer lots as well as work out the "electrical issue" on the C8 and get it ready for its unveiling this Summer. This timeline makes the most sense to me.

I'm not an old fart, 40 yrs old, but man, I really miss the times where a car model year was the year it came out. Not, 1 to 1.5 years ahead.

Yeah, I remember when new car models came out in the September time frame each year. Now, who knows when they show up.
