Default C7 Wrap - Avery Roaring Thunder

I've been on the site for a while but don't post much. Thought I would post up some picture of my 2014 C7 Z51 with my new wrap. The color is called "Roaring Thunder" and is made by Avery. The car was originally white. Also swapped out the front grille for the Z06 style and added the DAR rear spoiler. It's not for everyone but I wanted to do something different. May go back to white eventually. Let me know what you think!

I like how it changes color based on light / angle. You'll get a lot of attention

Wow - now that looks super cool. It reminds me of the Oakley Blades sunglasses from the 90's ski fashions... Very cool indeed.

I wrap a lot of cars...I'm personally very biased toward satin finish wrap vs gloss. In general though, pics do no justice to the wraps, especially gloss. I just did a challenger in 3m plum explosion...color looks dead in photos, blow your mind in person though...next level.

Yes! I went so far as to order a sample of that vinyl in satin and a gloss one from 3M, but my wife wasn't a fan.

Kudos to you for going bold. I like it!

Default No wrap. Real deal

This is a picture of my 1986 that was painted with DuPont chrome illusion....the color was absolute purpleen prism...it changed colors as you walked around it....

Here is another wrap that I saw on Beale Street in Memphis this past summer...it was a real nice wrap job....owner said it cost about $2,000....

I just did a wrap for 1400.00 but I work it on the side so had the car for 10 days. Las Vegas market around here, for wraps starts at 2k, but you'll end up out the door at 2500 easy and good luck when you unwrap it and find razor marks everywhere. Cheap wraps mean minimal labor in removing parts. If you don't remove parts, then it means the installers are bustin out the razor. I like to take out as much as possible, but...if I have to cut, I knifeless tape the light then tuck, but it comes with risk of exposing the underneath color. That's why most wraps are 2-4k, they remove everything, and wrap the car like it's a paint job. Best outcome, best longevity, best long term value.

If you go to a wrap shop, don't just ask for prices, watch the installers work for 10 minutes. If you see razors flying around, beware.

Absolutely. I got a few quotes from people in the area. Most were around 3k. I found a guy who was just starting his business and paid about 2k for the wrap and he put the new spoiler and grille in for me. Only used knifeless tape and took off most panels.

I like it,but I'm a little bias. Mine is called Deep Space Blue, L8R ZFLASH

Can you also tell what front spoiler you have, it looks similar to mine and I don't know which one it is. I bought my car used and Protekt doesn't recognize it,trying to get the skid plate. Thanks

Stating that installers using razors somehow have poorer workmanship is ridiculous and it's misinforming anyone that might be in the market to have a wrap done. Hell, you need to demonstrate cutting ability just to become certified by vinyl companies. Avery goes so far as to have you put vinyl on a balloon and have you demonstrate that you can cut through the vinyl without popping the balloon in order to pass their certification.

Also, panels don't always have to be removed for a wrap to come out well and be durable, and razors are used regardless of if panels come off or not. One of the most talented and highly respected wrappers in the industry, Justin Pate, actually advocates removing as little as you have to, to cut down on labor, AND he uses a blade. If you're using knifeless for every cut on a job, you're wasting money on the unnecessary amount of tape being used, wasting time applying the tape everywhere, and netting the same result that anyone could get with a 30 degree blade, a steady hand, proper technique and some training/experience. Does knifeless have its uses? Absolutely! Things like inlays, overlays, and difficult-to-cut areas are great uses for it! However, claiming that installers are to be avoided if they're not utilizing it for every cut, is plain stupid, as is claiming that a car has to be disassembled in order to perform a quality installation.

Yours looks awesome. I actually almost did the Deep Space by 3M but ordered a sample of it but ended up going with the roaring thunder. My front spoiler is my by ACS composites.

Looks good.

A small number of 1996 and I think 2004 Ford Cobras had a color option called "Mystic" or "Mystichrome". That looks very similar.
