Thank you for the reply I went with Factory 19 ZR1 wheels chrome they are forged from house of wheels.
They made a big difference on my Z06 that had 3 bent wheels. I found out that a Zo6 was delivered from factory with bent wheel. I was also told know problem on Corvette’s Camaro’s CTSV’s that the tie downs on truck and rail cars was bending wheels.

Good afternoon!
I am hoping to buy a 2017 Grand Sport, and all this talk about bent wheels is making me rather spooked about buying one. Car & Driver bent multiple wheels over 40,000 miles. THe owner of a Grand Sport that was on display at the NAIAS 2019 in Detroit tells me that he's had two bent wheels and one cracked wheel (which they welded up just so he could take it to NAIAS). It seems wherever I am looking online, I find Grand Sport owners with bent wheels. I have an appointment on Monday to look over a GS. I'm going to have them put it on the rack so I can spin the wheels and check for bent lips and cracks. What sort of money are you budgeting for a set of forged wheels and tires $3600 for a set?

Very beautiful. The wheels/tires look nice too. If I have any issues with my stock wheels/tires, I'll be going with these - do they come in black?

Some have had nothing but problems and some have had no problems at all, but the problem is very real by the sheer number of people that have reported it here and in C7 z06 forum. If you wanted to plan ahead budget $4500 for a nice set of Forgelines. Tires are another $1700 for PSS zp. If the tires on the GS are new just swap out the rims and store them for when you sell it. Swap them back and sell the Forgelines. They will fetch good money used.

Don't let this this stop you from buying the car. It’s an amazing experience and I’d do it again regardless off the rim issues. You’re way ahead of most knowing it in advance.

Sorry you had so many problems with your wheels. At least I know how to react and wouldn't hesitate to buy Forgelines if I have an issue. However, guess none of mine are bent, broken or egg shaped so far. Turned over 4000 miles and have had it at speeds high enough to detect the smallest of vibrations. All is smooth!

V.vet’s
i’m like you. Had 3800 miles on my GS and no issues whatsoever. My fear was that if I did I was gonna wait days, if not weeks to get a replacement. I opted to be proactive and ordered a set of FL’s and mounted them up with some all seasons.
Once summer comes I will swap them out and throw the stock wheels and summer tires back on. If one cracks or bends at least I have my FL’s to put back on.

Has anyone tried switching out runflats for standard tires to see if that stops the problem? I would think that standard tires would absorb more of the impacts in the road, whereas runflats are just transfering the impacts straight to the wheels.

Very nice package, looks great and I am sure the quality is top notch. But my GS only has 500 miles, just got it in Sept. But, if I have similar issues my car is gone, I simply will not spend another $5-7 K to fix a $75000 car.

Thats why there products (GM) are sitting on the lots . All they care about is profits! The CEO just closed many US plants and she is going to China with production.

You are going to love those tires. I have 20K on mine and they still stick great in the rain and through puddles at speed.

Thats AWESOME!

Ok so I’ve had them on my car now for about a month!
All I can say is THIS is how this car should drive/ride!
I seriously cannot believe what a difference in the ride it is.... not to mention the QUALITY difference there is between those stock wheels vs my FORGELINES!

So a friend that works at the dealership called me a week into my swap out wanting me to talk to a customer that has a z06 and the tire hop he was having. I told him I ONLY get the tire hop on very sharp turns (pulling out of a parking spot) and they needed to just swap tires to the A/S. (His car has 3500 miles and OEM wheels(Black) and tires)
Ok so they ordered the tires and my friend wanted to drive mine...Then we drove the z06. Got to the red light after the dealership and I said “these aren’t the same tires” got out on the highway and said it again. The car had that rocking squirrelly side to side like my OEM tires and wheels had. I feel that squirrelly feel because I’m a female and I have frontal parts that move side to side 🤦🏼*♀️Sorry just being real.
We got back to the dealership and sure nuff those were NOT the same tires.
I honestly think mine drives better because it’s BOTH the quality in the wheels and the change of tires.

On another note..... my first time in a z06 and I feel like my car isn’t fast enough now. 🤦🏼*♀️🤷🏼*♀️

Yup. I just bought forged wheels (signature) and sold my OEM while they were still worth something. I just considered it an upgrade/mod. Now that I've done it, I love it. I'd do it again even if the factory wheels didn't have problems.
