Wet sump and it had its oil changed somewhere cause the sticker says 5900 miles next change. I dont think it comes with a oil change sticker from the factory

Just tighten the oil filter or replace it. Check oil level (probably still full as there is practically none on the floor).

Hope all it turns out to be is a loose oil filter. Keep us posted.

Maybe I missed it, but did you just buy the car new? If so, you're under 100% factory warranty. Call the 800 number and get it flat bedded to your nearest Chevrolet dealer for service. No big deal......

Warranty is not going to pay for the tow bill or the repair unless its the original ac delco filter. Making things worse, there's no way I would be driving the car with such a significant leak. So you might want to discuss this with whoever sold you the car.
In a pinch, I have driven two wheels up onto a curb so I had room to slither under the car. Obviously you have to be careful doing this, but you can probably approach your driveway at an angle, and carefully steer the drivers side onto the curb while the passenger side is in the street. Just a thought.

Assuming you have a floor jack that's low enough to get under the C7, I recommend you be very careful using plain hockey pucks that you can't lock into your frame rail slots. You don't want the puck to slip off the frame rail.

The oil change interval is 1 year regardless of mileage. If it were the last 2017 to roll off the line on 6/1/2017 (last day of production), it would have needed to have its oil changed by now.

Hopefully the dealer will make it right.

OP: Base model stingray's = wet-sump.
Please do not jump to any conclusions, you must first rule out the easiest and simplest (cheapest) explanations. Check all fluid levels. Sample the material, Color and smell, in order to determine the origin. Bright flashlight in hand, You have stated that is near or at the oil filter? test turn the filter, if loose you can simple tighten?
Auto Tech's are always in a hurry?
Many thanks,
Ray

Well, at least the new owner is driving it more than the first owner did.
Best of luck. Like others have said, it's probably just a loose filter or drain plug. Kudos to you for noticing the leak.

Good advice Ray! I just didnt feel comfortable jacking it up and climbing under without the proper lifting pads and jack. I do hope its something simple. Again, thank you everyone for tips and advice! Proud to be a member of the community!
