Ran my VIN - Carbon Fiber Roof Panel Missing...
I love my car and I got a sweet deal on it. No regrets.
BUT
I ran the VIN and found out the car originally came with both the transparent roof panel and the visible carbon fiber roof panel with color match paint.
Kinda disappointed now I only got the transparent panel the carbon fiber one wasn't with the car when I bought it. I wonder what happened to it.....

Similar situation but with rims on mine. Supposed to have been the extra 1500 dollar red pinstripe rims but someone switched them with Zo6 machined lip rims. Still love the car as well and the rims look nice regardless but I do still want the gloss black with red pinstripes though lol. Eventually I will have them and now a set of track wheels, eventually.

Most likely the original owner sold it, either before he sold the car or right after to recoup some of his money. If the car was traded in, most likely the dealer didn't offer as much for the CF top as the owner could get just selling it himself.

Original owner may still have tucked in where he stores stuff. It's in the way using car. The second roof is removed and forgotten about. You might contact seller for help. Seller may not be able to give you contact info but could inquire for you.

He probably sold it and pocketed the cash. Nothing everyone else would have done.

I thought at first you were saying the dealer didn't include it! There are many Z06 and Grand Sports riding around, delivered new from the dealer that do not have the side skirt ground effects on their cars. I have seen several post that they didn't know they were included because the dealer didn't install them and never advised them. In that such case, I was about to advise to go to the dealer and raise much #%$! until your top is replaced!. As you described though, ... you're out of gas .... previous owner can sell it with or without whatever he chooses ...

Just buy another one I am almost certain you will find one here in the member classified, maybe even the one that came with your car. I still have my OEM car wheels from a car I sold last April and the OEM spoiler and floor mats..dealer didn’t ask for them and I didn’t tell.

Selling the roof separately is part of the reason you got "a sweet deal" on it.

Since the roofs are interchangeable, the original owner may have traded into a new model (Stinray to Grand Sport example) that is the same color and chose to reuse the roof vs. buying or ordering the two roof option.
The original owner isn’t required to sell or trade the car with all the original equipment. He could claim he joined the flying roof club and damaged it.

Just keep in mind allot of the used C7 we see are turned in leases, Could be the fellow turned in his lease. for a newer model and wanted to keep his extra roof for his new car.
Good luck with your new car, you bought it with out the panel its that simple don't let it ruin your day, I been in a similar place and it just aggravated the heck out of me, I just had to let that bad energy go

Owner probably forgot it. We had two roofs with our '15 Z. Because my wife couldn't take the roof off by herself she drove with the transparent roof on all the time.(That's why our '18 Z is a convertible) The painted one was stored in a bedroom that we hardly went into. When we sold it I had to put in the car ahead of time not to forget about it. I probably have most of the front license plate holders from the other vettes we owned in my garage because I never installed them and forgot about them.

I often have parts left over when I sell a vehicle. My reasons are as what has been mentioned. The buyer may not want them or may not want to pay for them. The OP made a good deal knowing what he bought. All he has to do is buy another roof if that is what he wants to do.
