Z51 dealer oil change
Ok, went to my local dealer for an oil change. Olm was at 3%. In at 7:45, out at 9:15, Mobil1, oil level correct, reset complete, scan, no issues found, $130 lighter, but as a nice surprise, a Mobil1 rebate form filled out, extra copy of work order, ready to sign and mail... to total cost was $115.. I can live with that.
And yes, I could have done it myself, but it’s winter...lol
nice that my dealer seems to be Aok..

Make sure to check the level properly after they change it. At my last dealer change they overfilled it.
I now tell them to add 9 quarts and give me the last quart to top it off.

No no no no, stories about a dealer doing proper work should not be allowed here. Just kidding. It’s nice to hear about good dealer service. My local dealer does good work also.

My first free one after early first one resulted in 1 quart overfill. This was at the selling dealer. Second one at a dealer 4 hours away also deals with lots of corvettes left it a quart low . Maybe I should not have mentioned the overfill to them! The label with checking instructions on the dry sump tank seems to be useless,,,,, but seems plain to me. I swore to check it before leaving the dealership but it was sitting on very unlevel parking area. Which I let talk me out of what I knew should be checked

Easier way: Ask for a 9 qt. fill and pay only for that. When you get home, check oil and adjust as necessary. Usually no adjustment is necessary, in my experience.

Well, it's easy to check: Drive it about 5-7 minutes until the oil is up to 175 F, stop for 5-10 minutes, check and either proceed home or go back to dealer.

Or do it yourself and don't worry about it.

You are fortunate and I'm very glad for you. Wish we all had such readily available.

And this is where I smile.....
...when I bought my '14 Z51 Conv 7MT 1LT 'bout 18 months ago and got them to throw in oil changes for life (up to 4 per year); at that time they only offered it on new cars. Have already saved about 480 bucks
and they were the ones who said they would keep her on a strict diet of Mobil One. She's a keeper.

Thanks for sharing that, we typically see posts when dealers screw up an oil change. Put one in the "win' column.

I bought my 2014 Z51 out of state and the and seller had the oil changed at the chevrolet dealership before I picked it up, when I returned home 1300 miles later I check the oil and it was a inch above the full mark. I changed the oil and measured how much came out,10.5 qts. I check the air filter and their was oil in the plenum hopefully no other issues.

Good that your dealership know how to work on the car. There are competent dealerships out there.
