Unmodified C8 of the Year 2021 Finalist
2018 C7 of Year Finalist
Interesting Rick, especially how it relates to the C8 and whether the the FE continues past 2019. IMO this may signal the end of FE Corvettes once the C8 is announced.

Front engine Corvettes . . . . get 'em while you can.

Melting Slicks
Probably more tape stripes, embroidery, etc. like the recent special editions. Maybe an exclusive color. Can't imagine any mechanical changes this late in the game. Question will be is it available on all models or on GS/Z06/ZR1 only? That will be one way to generate some interest in the C7 for the rest of the year. This has been rumored for some time and finally announced. I would imagine a timeline will be stated as well for the plant shutdown in advance of C8 production.

It's probably a '20 years of Corvette Racing" special edition. The C5R debuted in 1999. That might also explain the 1YC07/67 codes that popped up recently.

They are going to announce another new fluid for the A8 transmission.

As the special edition is going to be revealed at the ROLEX, might these emblems be part of the SE package?

This is the last gasp for the C7. I fear for the future of Corvette.

It said "Special Edition" not "Final Edition".

I have created a list of those who have posted here, “no way will I own the ugly C8.” We shall see how that turns out three years after the first ones are arriving at dealers. I remember how many HATED our big butt C5, when we were the first owners to show up at our Corvette club. Many were truly vicious about how ugly it was — and right to our faces.
A funny thing happened over the next three years, and low and behold, at that point more than half of our club then owned one — including every one of the five who were totally rude expressing their feelings to us, e.g., “you bought that ugly piece of XXXX,” and similar. I am still laughing every time I think of the day it first occurred.
We shall see.
JJ, about a list...

I'm very much on the fence right now, based upon the renders. Sometimes I like what I see, and other times not so much. However, I expect to like it better in person, eventually.

I think it's a little early for a list, since we haven't seen the car, but I know exactly what you're talking about. A lot of the original haters always end up loving and purchasing the new gen over time.

Then a local dealer got in the very 1st one anywhere in the area and a bunch of us cruised on over to look at it... man, what a night and day difference and I was sold on the spot! (although I did shop around for the best deal I could get - $3K off MSRP which was unheard of in late 2013)
Mr. Elegant and I know each other in the real world and he knows my stance is currently not a fan of the C8 but he also knows I recognize until I see one for myself, I'd be a fool to write it off
