Default Shopping for a used C7 - have mag ride questions

I'm looking to buy my first vette in a few months - probably be ready by late March or early April. I've just started looking, to get an idea of what is out there and what to look for. This forum is a wonderful source of information. The VIN Decoder is awesome, but not quite telling me everything. I suspect maybe I don't know some of the subtleties, but I *think* what I am looking for is a 2106-2018 vert, M7, and mag ride, among other things. Color choices, 2LT at least, not black interior, etc. Not too many fit this description...alas. So, my questions:

How can I tell if it has the mag ride option? I have found a few that call it out in the description, but there is nothing mentioned in the equipment listing that looks like mag ride. What am I looking for?

Is Mag ride standard on the GS? Z51?

Thanks for any and all insights...

You need to look at the tops of the shocks and see if there is the electrical lead going to them. If it looks like the top of a regular shock, then it isn't magnetic ride control

I believe that all Grand Sports have mag ride standard, and that Z51's it is an option. I have a 2015 Z51 non mag ride, so I can tell you that it isn't standard on that year. As far as newer model year Z51's, I believe it still is an option.

This is correct - standard on GS, optional on z51.

I don't think VIN will tell you that MSRC is installed (unless its a GS / Z06 / ZR1 which have it standard)

As mentioned above, you can look at the shock to see if its installed. The other option is to have the dealer send you an image of the RPO codes. MSRC is FE4.

You can also look in the trunk near the battery under the carpet. All the RPO codes on that vehicle are listed on the tag you will see. If it's a Z51 look for FE4 as mentioned.

"You need to look at the tops of the shocks and see if there is the electrical lead going to them. If it looks like the top of a regular shock, then it isn't magnetic ride control ."

^ This is the easiest and quickest way. If you're shopping online, it's also something you'll be able to easily see when viewing engine bay pics.

If you can't open the car up on the lots you can look under the rear. The non mag ride ones are yellow while the mag ride shocks are black.

Really helpful, thanks. I am looking online, as it seems the odds of my finding what I want close by are slim.

I can tell you that not many dealers will disclose if the Z51 has magride unless they show a pic of the build sticker. Don't know why this is, but if you see a car that has everything you want, contact the dealer and ask them if it has magride.
Also, you might want to send a PM to forum member Foosh. He owns a Z51, 2LT, M7 vert with mag ride and can tell you about the difficulty of finding one.

Regular Production Option for mag ride would be FE2 for the Base Stingray.

Great. So, for Mag ride on a Z51 I am looking for RPO code FE4, on a Stingray it will be FE2. If I get lucky enough too find a GS, it is already there standard. You guys are awesome. Thank you.

^^^
Just so you have your terms right when you're speaking to dealers, there is the
- Stingray
- Stingray with Z51 package
- GS
- Z06
- ZR1

Make sure you query as many used car search engines as possible. You really have to dig into the details section once you setup the common filters such as year, trim, transmission, and body type (for stingrays and Z51's; as mentioned above, mag ride is standard equipment on GS, Z06, ZR1)

Here's one that's a Z51 M7 vert w/ mag ride option:
2017 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51 2LT Convertible RWD - $54,995

Be patient and good luck!
