Hello,
Very happy with my black 2 LT Grand Sport, instead of the Z O 6 . Just like I was very happy when I ordered my new 1967 Chevelle 327 cu. in. , 275 horse ,4 speed, posi, rear bucket seats, full instrumentation etc, etc. I COULD have had a S.S 396 !
Guess you can say it doesn't take THAT much to satisfy me

My GS is my perfect car! I love the balance and the fact rain or shine, street or track, no traction control needed. Just the perfect drivers car in my opinion. But sounds like if you don’t get a Z06 you will kick yourself later. Get the car YOU really want. Good luck and have fun picking a new toy!

I’ll echo this and add, know thyself. It’s the only way to be truly happy in life.

My GS with options (exposed CF roof, hood, skirts, PDR, Heritage Pkg. and chrome wheels, etc.) was right at base Z06 money. No regrets for the many reasons already stated. I drove a Z06 first and that sealed the decision to go with the GS. Just too much for the street IMO and not what I wanted or needed.

But given how expensive it is, a little push isn't a bad thing

If youre asking the question, get the Z06. I have a Z51 and wish i had the Z06 but was being tight. Now I'm considering upping to a Z06 and looking at an entirely different brand.

Apparently you live somewhere that you can drive your Z06 at WOT constantly for it to be different every time you press start. I have driven both and I certainly don't feel the entire experience being different, if so I'd purchase the Z06 and never look back. The only difference I feel is when you're mashing hard on the skinny pedal the Z06 looses traction easier. The Z06 is more powerful as it's supposed to be and if I were drag racing I'd feel the extra $14K would be cheap for the performance gain but when I'm cruising down a 2 lane road with a 45-55 mph speed limit or in stop and go traffic I don't feel $14K difference in the two cars.

Nope...when our club members suffer the overheat shutdown especially not. Close to 500 HP is plenty frankly and I got the same look at a great price point.

Yeah, it understeers a bit, but not too much for me. A tiny bit more front grip or less weight up front and it would be perfect. It's just a little hard to rotate on throttle. It REALLY pushes on throttle- and the Z06 from my understanding is much worse.

I had the same thoughts before I bought my Z06. The Grand Sport is a great car and I'm sure you will be happy with it but I felt like I would always wish I had spent the extra and got the Z06 so that's what I did. You can't take the money with you so if you have it you might as well spend it and enjoy the extra power!

Thinking about supercharging my GS now. Was going to sell but now I'll keep it. Its an awesome car no matter what you do. I am going with a roots type supercharger with some cooling upgrades so I dont run into z06 problems, hopefully. I dont drive in 95 degree track weather as well.

90% of Z06 owners will never utilize the extra HP unless they track the car and can actual drive it on the edge. I have read many posts over the last two years where people regretted buying the Z06 saying it was just too much car. I have only read one (now two) from those who regretted getting a GS.
IMO, the GS is the best of both worlds.
Then again, get a Z06 so you can use the extra performance...

I'm into handling in the curves and the overall driving experience as opposed to straight line speed, so no regrets.
Besides approx $74 per each extra HP seems a little crazy, but to each their own. Both GREAT sportscars.

It Really Is Live it,Live it well. The GS is above any public road. You will never know it's all unless you track it.
There will be that Blind Corner or driveway. That uneven crappy surface. That tree that's there IF you screw up?
When you finally get that confidence to really test car and said corner. You'll be telling yourself...
WOW What a F'N Car
