Driver's Edition Grand Sports are a pretty good deal!

Suggestion
At least have the drivers sign and number on the underside of the center console armrest..... ala the Ron Fellows 2007 ZO6 and the 2008 Wil Cooksey Z44 ZO6.
BTW, Dave was brave enough to step up and post this thread with his personal opinions....in the face of a lot of pre-posted negativism......so be respectful.
Kerbeck, McMulkin, and Furman (Criswell) are the heavy lifters for Corvette in general, and here on the Corvette Forum specifically, and they earn and deserve our positive feedback comments.

Plus they often charge you to REMOVE things. I too considered a Cayman (my brother has a Boxster GTS) and the option packages are all over the place. Granted I can't afford new thus was looking in the used market but found it very difficult to do any comparison shopping due to the nature of how Porsche's are sold. Not to mention the sad color choices... nothing but a sea of grey out there

I think the backlash has to do with the fact that there is nothing new or special about these cars. With the exception of the dash plaque, these are all off the shelf parts that have been available for years, and could be replicated for less money on any existing C7 using aftermarket parts.
The C7R edition, CE Grand Sport and Carbon 65 at least had new and unique parts that were only found on those specific vehicles. Nobody besides die hard Vette addicts will be able to tell the difference between one of these and a striped 2017-2019 GS. Three of them were parked in public for days before the 'reveal' and nobody even noticed them.

I agree. At least, GM could have thrown in that goofy performance intake option. Then rubes and first timers would think that they would be getting a super fast Vette.

Now this is a great idea.
Feedback is just that - positive or negative shouldn't matter. I am sure these guys didn't become top Corvette sales leaders by not listening to customers. So they should to take our responses back to GM that most customers aren't impressed with this "special" edition.

Having owned two of the 2009 GT1 special edition corvettes which were much more limited in production (38 yellow Z06 made and 24 black coupes made) while they are beautiful and interesting and their costs added about $8k to each car, they did not add any value over the years for resale. I also had a 2004 CE Z06 in LeMans blue which was also beautiful. The C5 did hold its value better then the C6 GT1 editions but as others have said are not (in my opinion) worth the additional cost.
I'd also like to see some performance enhancements such as horsepower, or other changes. Something to really make them unique, otherwise its just badging and stickers.

If these option packages came with a significant discount I could see it. But I would much rather order my own unique car if I am dropping this kind of coin.
But there is an *** for every seat. Someone will buy them.
