ZO6 owners - do you wish you had bought the GS?

I'm happy with my M7 Z06/Z07. I never considered a GS for a second (though don't get me wrong the GS is a great car). Do I really need the 650/650, nope. Do I need the stiffer suspension & CCBs of the Z07, nope. But I'd rather have it & not need it than need it & not have it. YMMV.

No, but I would be delighted to also have a GS.

The real answer is this..... I wish I never DROVE a C7 Z06... then the GS would have made me the happiest Corvette owner ever....
going from the low end grunt of the LT4 back to the NA LT1 is a tough move.
having said all of that, my insurance would have not gone up as much because they classify the LT4 equipped C7 "an exotic" translation people tend to crash then to the point they get totalled more often then minor repairs lol.
nothing wrong with the GS or even a base stingray. Just that torque is so addicting..

The first & only C7 I drove prior to buying mine was my friend's '15 M7 Z06 that I took on a 1,200+ mile road trip. After that I knew for sure that I wanted a Z06. I guess I was a goner from the start. The friend ended up selling his Z06 in January 2018 & since I couldn't borrow his car after that I had no choice but to buy my own. It would have been far cheaper to continue borrowing his car once in a while.

Exactly my point!! Even without breaking the law like crazy, you can have a blast with the LT4 torque, that is what make a Z06 so fun on the street, specially M7

+1 there, based on my '72, which has similar power to weight (about 640 gross hp; around 3300 lbs). You can find ways to briefly enjoy it on the street. If you want to go all out, track it and, from what I've read in Corvette Magazine, get the LG Motorsports kit for the.necessary additional cooling (I would of course defer to others who have actually installed the kit there).
Great forum,

GM didn't make the exact car that I wanted so I did it mysel. I like the front end and wing of the ZR1, the Z06's motor, the base Stingray's emblems, the GS's tension blue interior and dash plaque and I can't explain it, but I like the new Z71 OFF ROAD emblems. So.....
I bought a Stingray, GS, Z06, ZR1 and a new Z71 pickup. Best news is I used my GM credit card points and employee discount so it only cost me $390,000. The GM body shop and tech are charging $126,000 for the work, but in the end I'll have something no one else has on the road......a $25,000 piece of crap with no warranty, no resale and be 1/2 million dollars in debt.

The GS, is for the budget minded. A GS is NO substitute for a Z06. Not in the power department.
