Complimentary Service reduction
So.... the cost cutting continues. Likely won’t prevent any sales of 2019 C7’s. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a2...nance-reduced/

My 2019 bought in Oct 18 came with initial break in oil change and 2 more routine oil changes. With the miles I drive that shoukd be good for 2 more years.

You might check with your dealer, bought my 19 Z in 18, it came with the break in oil change and one other within a year, I did confirm this with the dealer.

Well, it's still one more than Ford offers.

Seems that the bean counters are in charge at GM. The termination of 4000 salaried employees starts on Monday. Ms. Barra is tough.

There is nothing Free in life. Those complimentary services are priced into the final product price. GM more than likely sees the reduction in those services as a way to keep price increases down as we head into a more uncertain future from the perspective of the Automakers. It looks like there is a huge paradigm shift coming to the automotive market with societal changes influencing how many people will own cars and the rapid movement to electrically driven and autonomous vehicles resulting in a vastly different market than we have seen over the last 100 years. The total number of new car sales will probably reduce drastically over the next 10 to 15 years and companies will need to be nimble to stay relevant over that time period.

I dont see GM or any manufacturer passing on the cost savings of less free service to the consumer. The cost savings in most cases is 2 oil changes not a big chunk of change in the scheme of things. They will still raise thier prices on cars/trucks whenever they feel like it

I'm still trying to figure out when three years was ever in the mix for a C7?

What a tiny thing to be concerned about, not even a First World Problem. My local dealer offers a LIFETIME powertrain warranty that even includes rental cars. $0 deductible. If you have a good local dealer, they'll take care of you no matter what GM corporate does.

Haven't used the "free"oil change and won't - I do it myself. As far as Ms. Barra being tough - no way, she is taking the easy way out. Rather than getting rid of the executive dead wood that has planned poor selling cars and the marketing people that can't spell she is just going for the generic cuts to the working folks.
