Do your own maintenance?

Sorry but that is simply NOT TRUE. I just reread my GM extended warranty and it states the following.
“Properly Maintain Your Vehicle and KEEP THE RECEIPTS – Keep copies of all receipts (oil changes, lubrication, etc.), as proof of maintenance MAY be required when you file a claim.”
So doing your own maintenance is not a problem just keep the receipts. On my receipts I also make not of the mileage.

Yes, the mobile devices get their date/time set by the cellular network, so this is good evidence.

You better believe I do my own maintenance. When we had the 16 Stingray I even installed Z51 sway bars on it because husband didnt do his homework when he brought the car. The new sway bars REALLY helped the car a LOT. Still didnt compare to the 06 with mag shocks but close..........
Yes this girl does her own maintenance.........

I'm in the welding business and in WWII 37% of the welders (like most skilled trades) were women. They built the ships and other war machines. Below is a pic of a gal oxyacetylene welding a WWII aircraft engine turbo duct! Women are some of the best TIG welders, today.

Jerry funny you mentioned welding. In my life I have two things that totally put you in the ZONE where the rest of the world stops and you are oblivious to all but what your doing. The first is flying an airplane and the second is welding. You put that hood down and you go to a different world.............
By the way I changed the oil in this beast the other day. This one was a bit different. You have to raise the car up and get the oil to a certain temp and then you quickly drain the remote tank.
Dont have a Corvette anymore but they still are dear to my heart........

And if somebody actually does that they will cover the repair. However, if you actually screw up the same thing due to what ever reason (and screw ups do happen especially if you are distracted for an instance) you pay for the repair. Not worth doing for one oil change per year that lets the service department see the car while doing the oil change. The oil change may cost twice what it would cost me if I did it myself but that again is only once per year and I don't have to get rid of 10 quarts of oil after the oil change is done.

"You stupid a$$! Can't you do anything right??? Not even something as simple as buying a sports car!!! Actually don't worry about it, I'll put the proper sway bars on it myself! Next time I'm buying the car. And I'll make sure it meets the minimum requirements. Jeeeez!"

I do the basic maintenance service items, like oil changes. I keep meticulous records, dates, service performed, comments about what exactly was done and any conditions noted. I do not keep receipts for oil purchases, etc. This all becomes moot 3/8/19 when my drivetrain warranty goes bye-bye.

They have a 2019 Grand Sport for $58,107 that is $10,137 more than the base car. So a Z51 would still be about $8137 more money (with MRC.) A few hundred dollars gets the Z51 sway bars that many report makes a big difference as the base car has a smaller one in the front and none in the rear. My Grand Sport front sway bar looks like and axle! If I were doing it I'd also get the 45 mm Bilstein Z51 Shocks (or equivalent) versus the base car 36 mm. Then for under $500 you'd have the equivalent of a Z51 (without MRC, which I didn't have in my 2014 Z51 and it was fine for me) and save over $7500!
That is big bucks for some!

I am currently designing my next house to have the ability to do these projects on my own with ease. A detached 2 car garage with a lift, TV (mainly for Youtube/back ground noise), short 10 yard range, couch, sink, fridge, HVAC... are all on my want list. :0)
