Gen X here. I am trying to remember way back when I was little. Is it two pumps on the gas peddle, turn key, when it starts to fire up give it a little gas?

Yep - then when it floods hold the gas peddle all the way to the floor and crank it over and over until it starts (maybe), then when the the smell of gas and oil has dispersed you're ready to cruise!

^^^

Even tougher with the 850 Holley on the 502 cid in my Street Rod! The double pumper needed high capacity 50 cc pumps front and rear to avoid hesitation or slight bog off the line.

Need to set the electric choke by using ~1/4 throttle. The accelerator pump cams are selected for a quick fuel dump BUT not the full 50 cc. That 1/4 throttle puts enough gas from the front bowl to start the car but none from the rear. Wait 10 sconds to let some fuel get to the cylinders then crank.

If you flood the system with full throttle both accelerator pumps will dump excess fuel and may fowl several plugs. Have to wait some time to try again. Before switching to hotter plugs several times it required pulling plugs and cleaning all fuel to avoid a miss!

It's amazing how much progress they've made from C2 to the C7 and how much better looking the C7 is over the C2 !!!!!!

Kind of an unfair comparison there, a pea green C2 with stock wheels. Paint it shiny black and slap a set of chrome wheels on that puppy and you'd have a very different comparison. Also the C2 was mind bogglingly sensational compared to the C1.

i love my M7 and only way anyone gets it is over my cold, dead ***

its not appropriate for some, especially older fellows, i suppose. honestly once i read the thread on this very forum detailing all the issues with the new A8 i decided the only way to ensure i have no such problems is to have no automatic.

daily driver car, but that was the whole point. also, rev match.

C2 is an elegant design that has stood the test of time. I tend to think that C7 also will do so, but we'll have to wait to see. I think the big question is whether in another ten years or so C7 styling will seem too busy.

If they could build a C2 with current technology, I suspect it would sell well, particularly the coupe.
