Interesting, I find car enthusiasts are typically so amazed with the Corvettes in general, the last thing they typically comment on is what trans one has. Surprising enough is that one of the insignificant things that gets quite a bit of attention on the mid-years
is the little chrome clips attached to the console where the seat belts attach when not in use.

On a 67 a frequent question is: "What is the black handle between the seats for?"

When I was shopping around for my C7 it was incredibly difficult finding a manual. This was last October.

I was browsing through the C7 forums and was struck by all the useless threads. What is driving so many posters to post dumb threads?

Tell them it's for "rotating the car around" if needed.

Your picture just reminded me that I didn't own a car with power windows until mid-late 2004

Too funny! Amazing how we can get use to all of the convenience/luxury items on our new cars that are standard.

I noticed the same when I was looking at the 200 cars in the Kerbeck inventory. many more M&s than usual.

Assume folks have heard enough issues with the A8 they are going with the lower cost and very reliable Tremic M7!

I still drive a vehicle with manual roll up windows 96 Tacoma with 412,000 miles on it. Have a new one but still drive the old almost as much.

Or, you can experience the opposite. At the Ron Fellows school, I actually had an owner ask me why on Earth did I buy a manual?

Hmm, having 2 C7s both M7s when they were hard to find I stock I found this an interesting and relevant Thread.

However I find some posts on even great Threads- useless!

Same here, I looked for 5-6 weeks all over US for a GS, Vert, 1LT, Blade Silver/Red, M7 and finally gave up on the M7. Got everything else I wanted. As it turns out I'm glad I got the A8, love it.
I got the same story from most every Chevy dealer I checked with, " we don't order manuals for inventory as they sit on our lots too long".

I guess M7s make up about 10% of Kerbeck's new C7 inventory?
Seems they would carry more manuals than that, considering the volume of C7s they sell.

All the time.

.. Defending why they didn't buy a manual is hilarious to hear. I think some never learned how to drive one is why, to be honest with you.

Me too. Considering the small percentage of Z06s that make up all C7s, it almost seems like most of them are for sale!

When we had Corvettes in the 1960's it was virtually unheard of to own one with an automatic. In fact I never knew a guy around here who owned an auto Vette. Back then, only wives Corvettes were auto's. Things have changed I guess, except my Z51 is still a M7.

I'm not defending why I didn't buy a manual, been driving manuals for 45 years, most all of my Corvettes have been manuals, and my co-daily driver is a manual. As stated above I looked for a manual but couldn't find one with all the other features I wanted.
But glad I got the A8, as it's a nice change of pace and it's shifts so much faster than the M7.

I just counted Grand Sport Coupes and 23 out of 60 were M7s. That is what I looked at the other day, their big seller (as well as GMs.).

They had no Z51s as they have not had for a few years. Today the Grand Sport is preferred for not much more money if you want MRC.

Of the base car, 17 M7s out of 44. Again over 35% much more than they had in the past.

Didn’t look at Verts or Z06.

Even more shocking is when my wife takes our C7 to her job every now and then. People see it and freak out... its a stick with a female driver

I just did a complete inventory search of Kerbeck's C7 inventory. Looks like they currently have 182 new C7s of which 45 are M7s, so about 25% of total. I agree with you in that they didn't have anywhere near that quantity when I purchased my C7, and hardly any M7 verts.
It may have something to do with the rumors that the manual trans will not be offered for the C8, thus Kerbeck may be beefing up their supply of C7 M7s for those who want to grab one of the last Corvette manuals before they're gone.

I disagree. My experience has been just the opposite. YMMV.
