Drove part of the Northeast corridor from NYC to East of Hartford and back. 300 miles on I95 and I91. Aside from my own car I saw ONE other vette a torch red c7. Believe me I saw a lot of cars on the road and my radar was on. It was raining or snowing - it wont melt!!!

It never broke 30* today, not many people like driving in that temp range on summer only tires.

I would of loved to take mine out for a cruise today and really thought about it. It has been in storage since November. It was a cold dry day here in upstate NY with temps around 24 degrees. The roads were pretty much dry because it was so cold with some minor salt on them. I wasn't worried about the salt as much as I was about the tires not being compatible with the cold temperatures. And then comes the clean up after the cruise! For the enjoyment I would have got driving it today verses the amount of work cleaning it up afterwards and worrying about the tires in my opinion It just wasn't worth it. Beside it's just not my type of driving conditions to really enjoy the Vette it would have been purely out of impatience of waiting if I took it out.

This time of year the roads are full of rock salt and sand. After a few miles on the interstate, my car would end up looking like I was following a dump truck full of gravel with the tailgate hanging open.

Sure it wont melt, but driving it right now isn’t worth the damage.

Several inches of snow today... I prefer driving my truck or Jeeps in the snow. They don’t melt either...

sub freezing temps and drove the '05 with A/S tires this entire weekend. Good call as it it currently ice pelleting. Got home just a short while ago.

Always find it curious why some who DD their Corvettes are so concerned on how much others choose to drive theirs. My 2019 Z06 Convertible is a "toy", just like my previous C6 and C7. I have no desire to drive my Vette everyday nor in crappy weather. If you do fine as they say to each their own.

Makes no sense to me either. Drive your C7 as you please and don't worry so much what other's are doing. Personally, I have no desire to drive my C7 in poor weather, but I couldn't care less how/when other's drive theirs.

I fully agree. Even on many nice days when all I need to do is a quick drive to some local stores, I'd much rather jump in one of our 4 SUV's (or the 4 dr ATS-V), which frankly are easier to get in an out of, can be parked in a smaller parking lot and are just as "fun" to drive at those blazing speeds between 0-35 mph that local roads require. To me, the C7 excels at 20-150 mile touring drives on nice roads, and for most everything else it is not usually my car of choice.

its a car- mines filthy- it was a beautiful day for a drive. AS tires are of course a plus. I prefer not to keep it nice for the next owner I guess that's me. BTW the rain the other day made for nice drive pavement with all salt washed off

This pretty much describes my feelings/situation as well (although mine has only be covered up in the garage since around the start of the year).

Drove mine this weekend in NC 34 degrees on OEM tires, car didn't melt nor slide off the road. No salt, just cold.

My DD is a 2001 lifted 4Runner. Until the snow/salt is washed off the roads, I will continue to abuse it and keep my toy in the garage. :0) For those of you that DD your vette, kudos!

not my daily driver but i did pick her up on jan 29 and drove it home in 4 inches of snow!!
switched out tires and rims before hand.

Would love to be out driving it as well, but not chancing it with the summer tires, the enormous pot holes, road debris, etc. Planning on putting on A/S's so I can at least drive it more this upcoming year.

the AS tires are the difference- Even when it was single digits I had grip. My summer tires are sitting in my basement as Im told theyll crack if not kept in warm environment. Those who store their car for the winter - if your garage isnt heated is that a concern?
