Last year bought the Vette in February and the boat in May. To be honest, I use the boat more than the Vette. Far less idiots on the water than on the road.

NICE! I've owned a boat since 2000. There may be less idiots on the water but the ones do you encounter are truly clueless. Overall boaters are way more friendly as everyone waves back and views are better... in a word: bikinis I'm one of those hardcore fisherman types and not a pleasure boater. However some days a fishing trip is just a gloried boat ride. I tell friends all the time if you want fish for dinner you better go to a restaurant - its way cheaper

I have never had any interest in boats.
Yes to cars, motorcycles, airplanes, audio.

Have owned (and sailed/piloted) everything from a 30' SeaRay Flybridge to a Catalina 36 Sailboat (spent a TON of time on the water in SoCal and around Maui) but not so much anymore.

I had two pleasure boats over a 12 year period but ended getting out of boating a few years ago after my kids were grown. Just too much work and planning involved to take the boat out for just the wife and I since mine were trailered. Boats are constant cleaning, more so than Corvettes....lol. That and there are too many months you can't even use the thing even down here where I live. No regrets though, spent many hours pulling the kids and their friends on tubes, knee boards, etc.

I got my boat about a month after my best friend died in a house fire. His name was Tyler Boothe and I named the boat TyBoo in his honor. Hence the moniker I use on internet forums.

I've owned multiple boats since I was 18. I started out with a used small ski boat for a couple of years then sold that and bought a larger new ski boat capable of 65 MPH. No we didn't ski at that speed although one of my friends did like going up to 45 MPH.
Shortly after buying my 2017 Corvette we sold our pontoon boat because we weren't using it as much. Although I had no problems towing it we preferred to dock it each summer at a local lake. It made it much faster and easier to use. Between the dock fees, winter storage fees, and all the time we spent cleaning and working on it especially before and after the season, we decided our time would be better spent in the car.
We do still own our Mercury Water Mouse boat (look them up) and tow it to local lakes a couple times a year. They were originally designed as Disney Park rentals. After I changed the carb and exhaust tube to 15 HP versions it planes out beautifully and is the fastest boat on our local 9.9 limit lake.

I've always heard the happiest days in a boat owners life is the day it's bought and the day it's sold.

New boaters just see the fun, not the whole process. After getting a full taste, for some its not worth it. For others, they get good at it and get a lot of enjoyment out of it.
