. the arrows point to what are cracks...CRACKED the door. I opens fine. Window indexing is fine also. Just need a NEW DOOR.

Apparently, the salesman I'm working with is the one who actually did it. LOL. Security camera confirmed it. They wanted me to drop it in THEIR body shop. uh....no. no no....and hell no. hahahaha. Told them I have a very trusted place. I asked for a written statement that they'll take care of it....which I got.

what happened? looks like maybe rolled back into something with the door open and she buckled?

Did the salesman try to not fess up to it? And then they checked the cameras? How shady. I wouldn't buy an SUV from them or I would demand one heck of a deal.

yea that's what I was thinking. It opens fine and all. Just the carbon fiber or fiber glass. Whatever the material is. Whole new door or skin. Not sure how they come. And not sure if they come painted already

my car was parked. I was inside. He was moving a Toyota Highlander. My door was closed. Obviously he turned way early while backing out of the spot next to me. He "thought" he nicked me but said he only looked at the rear quarter panel...didn't notice the door. I dunno. He's not the sharpest tack in the drawer. You know how some of these chowdahheads can be.

Anyway...it'll be taken care of. And while she's there I'll get the rockers painted and put on my skirts that are currently waiting patiently.

well if you can manage it, maybe try to get the repair done off the radar of carfax or the likes of.

I'm sure someone will chime in about diminished value and make them give you a new $100000 car for pain and suffering... But I'd settle for fix it and keep it off the history if possible and if not, I'm good with fix it! Make me whole and all is well!

yea, they mentioned to keep it "off books". I'm totally cool with it. As long as they don't give me a hard time about MY body shop. I doubt it tho....either way, it'll get fixed. I have an extended warranty till around 80K miles...I'll keep her a while regardless of diminished value.

I have to laugh at diminished value... I commonly put 125K - 200K on any Corvette I own.... with diminished value I guess I'd have to pay them to take it off my hands....

That totally sucks! People can be so careless and inconsiderate. I go way out of my way to park in safe spots and people still manage to hit my cars. I’ve had two Corvette that got backed into and got checks for the cost of repair, car rental for the number of days they would be in the shop and extra money for diminished value.

The salesman did a hit an run at his own car lot. Nice. There's just no end to the stories you hear at dealers.

Default It's real, verifiable and legitimate

(note; I have been rear ended SIX TIMES, yup); my wife's Prius was rear ended and I called their insurance company, mentioned diminished value and they immediately transferred me to their "DV Specialist". On her '13 Prius with 40K miles I found a calculation, plugged in the numbers and came up with a little less than 1K in DV. I mentioned this, he offered 500 bucks and we settled on 750; check arrived in 3 days(we had no intentions of selling the Prius). This was independent of the cost of repairs. This was about 18 months ago. With the age of Carfax, it is very real and verifiable.

so...if my car is repaired 'under the radar' by them just paying my bodyshop directly...I'm assuming I couldn't get a DV anywhere. I definitely don't wanna hit up MY insurance. And I'm totally fine if I don't get a DV check. And I'll assume that carfax won't know since this is a transaction all done outside of a police report/insurance claim.

I'm kinda glad I'm forced to get it fixed...I have a pending 'repaint' of my front end from something last year. While it's there...gonna pay to have my rockers repainted "lots of road rash" and then put on side skirts that I have waiting from C7 Carbon.

probably will get the oracle lights too.

.....and got a deal I was happy with for a used QX80.

Now my username here is no longer valid.

I had a detailer and a salesperson rape the side of 2 different Silverados with a huge yellow steel cement reinforced pylon. Front door all the way down the bed. Both did 7k in damage...smh never even stopped

Beware of the Carfax report. That will lower the value of your car a whole lot.
