Amazing car man! I always wanted a F355 GTS but I’ve heard pretty much only terrible things reliability and maintence wise. So I don’t consider those the same as the 430. The 430 is an older modern car, I consider those classics. I just don’t have classic Ferrari repair money probably lol.
There's really no problem buying a 355 just ensure the previous owner has done the maintenance and done the factory recalls (manifolds were a big problem, but most have long been fixed.)
I bought the 328 in that it's NOT engine out for service, the parts are less, and the cars are very simple in comparison to many other cars - old technology.. The 3x8 cars are the first of the truly DD Ferraris.
I went from a C6 to a NSX to a Ferrari 360 to a Lamborghini Gallardo. Still have the Gallardo. These are great cars to drive but the constant worry of them breaking takes a lot of the fun out of it. I am waiting to sell my Gallardo once the C8 comes out.

I'm the exception, I think, rather than the rule...I frequently take 1,500 mile road trips in my 328 and have taken several in excess of 2,500.... I've put a little over 40K miles on the car since I bought it in 2013....

My car was apparently stolen at some point but was recovered the same day. It looks as if the thief trashed the clutch and it was replaced by the selling dealer in, IIRC, 2010. When I bought the car it had but 21,000 miles on it and now I have 63K+ with the clutch installed in 2010. There is no slippage... so, I assume it's good for another ________? miles...
Since the 3x8 series cars call for a 30K major - all belts, exterior seals, including water pump, to be replaced, all fluids, valves adjusted and "other stuff" IDRW - I budget about $1500 a year to cover the majors at 30K or so miles.... oil changes - 10 qts of synthetic and an oil filter (which you can't just buy off the rack)... oil and filter about $100. Car has been an absolute joy.
A few more F430 things you might want to know. Check the exhaust brackets for cracks. Capristo makes some spring loaded brackets that take the stress off of the brackets. I found one of mine cracked when we installed the new exhaust. Easy fix with a weld. The F430 is chain driven so no timing belt issues. That was major in my decision to choose the F430 as my first F car. Capristo does make a very good exhaust system but don't rule out Fabspeed should you decide to change out. A Ferrari oil filter will cost around $90. Brake pads are as easy as the C7 to swap out. The factory horn is too quiet. I swapped mine out for real Italian air horns. You have to remove the bumper cap to access but not that hard. If you're handy with a wrench, general maintenace is not that bad to accomplish on your own I did the header and exhaust swap at home with the help of a couple of friends. Patience and attention to detail goes a long way. The Becker stereo is fair. I upgraded to Alpine and also upgraded the subwoofers in the centre console. There's enough room in the trunk for weekender bags and the car is amazingly comfortable on long trips. My car went through three owners who put a scant 8K miles on it from 2007 to 2014. I had it exactly two years and even with a few months of downtime put 5K miles on it.
You gotta love that knowledgeable members here are seriously comparing the C7 with a Ferrari : ). I'll never own a Ferrari, but the C7's not a bad consolation prize. Now if it would only warm up so I could DRIVE it - but temps later this week in NY should start breaking 50ºF, so the driving season is upon us!
Just so you know, I regularly refer to my car as a WTF (White Trash Ferrari).
But, don't forget I also own a C7 with 84K miles in addition to the old 328, this is my sixth Corvette over the past 29 years - and almost 800K miles....
I was the opposite, I loved the 458 way more than the 488.
Ditto that. The 488 aesthetic is beautiful, but any time I *hear* one drive by its underwhelming.
I also generally echo your comments on my other thread regarding the 430’s interior quality EXCEPT for those rare cars with the factory CF racing seats and CF driving zone.
The 458 is still juuuuust out of reach financially and has a bit more depreciation left, otherwise I agree that I’d much rather have that.
If I find a clean, fairly-priced Rosso/black 430 with CCB, racing seats, and carbon driver zone, steering wheel, and paddles... that will be coming home with me.
Somehow I missed noticing a 2007 car like that in VA until just today for $94K. Called and discovered it was just sold yesterday. It had beige interior and only Daytona seats, but at that price I would have been all over it.

Yeah the two I looked at were 115 and 94.5. Loved the cars, and wouldn’t pay the 115 but the 94 was heavy consideration. It would have had more likelihood of going home with me if it wasn’t next to a 12C and 458. They’re interiors just blow the 430s away.
