Default Spat removal

Hello,
Looking to possibly buy the carbon flash spats for my '19 black GS. I see 3 screws on the bottom front behind the front wheel I am guessing the rest of the spat ( plural for spit ) is double side taped in place. What kind of an ordeal is it to remove the old one's ( and install ) the new ones ?
Thanks in advance,
Rich

If you are talking about the splash guards on the rear of the wheel opening, then it is very easy. Undo one bolt and pull off. Clips instead of tape. Several "how to" threads on this.

No, not the rock guards, I already purchased them from ACS composite in the carbon flash, the spats are the black half moon ugly plastic pieces that surrounds the front wheel
Thanks anywho!!

I ordered the carbon flash spats for my Z06 and had the dealer install them. Looking at removing the old ones I lacked the confidence to try it myself.

I have these on order:

https://www.rpidesigns.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=5326

They're new OEM parts that have been smoothed and painted. ACS does the same process but about $100 more. Hope I'm not disappointed!

I put on the ACS ones a few weeks back. My biggest issue was getting my hand in there to rip it out and getting rid of the old tape residue because it is lowered. The carbon flash looks awesome though and is definitely better looking than the oem originals.

Definately an improvement. It is surprising that GM didn't do something better than the OE spats they use. They look like a cheap afterthought on an otherwise beautiful car.

It is easier if you remove the wheels but not necessary. The hard part is removing the tape left on the car when you take the old ones off. Take your time to get it done right.

I agree but I'm switching to a stage 2 Carbon Metallic Front Splitter, at that points the stock spats don't match anything.

For the folks that have replaced their original Spats with the painted Carbon Flash, does it really make that much of a difference, or look that much better? I am on the fence about doing it. I am gonna have SunTek put on my front fenders soon, so if I am gonna change the Spats that will be the time to do it. If I do, I will have them wrapped as well before they are put back on the car. Thanks.

its definitely worth it aesthetically if everything else is in carbon flash. It just completes the look. I even did the splash guards in carbon flash as well.
