I'm considering selling my R3 for the R7 as well. From what I've read it has rear pickup as well whereas the R3 just picks up from the front. That is one of my biggest drawbacks of the R3. My Max 360 in the daily does both directions and is nice. I love the small size of the R3 tho, and hope the R7 uses the same mount. I'm tired of buying blendmounts. lol

Anyone hear about shipping time frame on these? Last I heard is by mid April.

Last I heard it was this Friday the 5th or the 10th. I got that info last week. I haven't heard any different.

I went back and looked at the letter that I got giving the release dates and this is the quote:
Still silent as far as shipping notifications. Looks like next week. I was getting all excited hoping to see the shipping confirmation. Letter was from Best Radar Detectors while we were straightening out a payment glitch that cropped up. Sigh...

and baring no customs delays we might have units at the earliest 4/5 or the latest the following week so they are still on schedule at the moment for the 4/5 through 4/15 date we were given earlier.

Yep a lot of people are pissed about the whole pre order process. I won’t do it again as it was a bit misleading.

The R3 and the R7 are not Laser detectors they are radar detectors... I still do not understand why people buy them for laser, they suck for laser.. it was an afterthought and has been known since the R3 came out it sucks...
The Valentine 1 is a rockstar on laser and it will tell you that you have a ticket faster than an R3 or R7 in every situation... So if you want a laser detector get the V1
If you want a rockstar of a Radar detector get the R3 and R7 as they are smoking everything right now...
