Good advice. There is always going to be someone that reports they got a better deal than anyone else and perhaps they did, but that doesn't mean you will. If the deal is what you feel is reasonable and in your budget, buy the new car and enjoy the heck out of it. When the C8 finally does come out and if you like it and it is within your budget at that time, consider either selling the C7 or trading it in on a C8. I have my doubts that the C8 will be priced the same as the C7, but who knows.

As far as the used route goes, don't totally discount going that way. There are a number of owners that upgraded from the earlier C7 models to say a Z06/GS/ZR1 and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the C7 they had - they just wanted a newer model. I bought a used 2014 2LT last November with only 2600 miles on the odometer for $40.5K. Prices most likely have come down since then.

Most people have goals what they plan on doing. I was planning on keeping my C5 Z06 and loved it. But I also liked the C7. I had no intentions of moving up at this time . Was planning on waiting till I retired and bought a C7 used. But the wife said to me why not get a C7 now instead of waiting. I already made that decision I did not want a C8. Yes that could change down the road but I don’t see it happening. I figured I would jump on a 19 Z06 because of the deal I was getting. I’m not one of those that can jump up to a new Corvette every few years. So that’s why I bought my C7 now to enjoy it.

Bought new 2019 in October and love it!! Got a great deal and didn’t buy it for an investment as it will lose value. I bought it because I wanted it!!

If you're always waiting for the next big thing then you'll never buy anything. I'd jump on the great C7 deals. What do you currently drive?

Used C7s are priced very good right now. But buying a used car can be a blessing and a curse .. I know y'all understand. I really don't want to spend a lot of money on someone else's problems.. If I buy used I would spend less than 40k and hope to get a 2LT.
Then we have the C8!!!
Which in my mind is going to change the game.. Especially if the entry level price is about the same as the C7..
I would for sure get a base C8..
Well for now I'm confused..
thanks in advance for all the feed back... Y'all are a bunch of great people.. See you all on the road soon..
Best estimate is the C8 will start being delivered in just over a year. I suspect if you don't have a deposit on one now and wait until then before deciding the actual delivery date will be closer to the end of 2020. The 97 Vettes were in the same sort of delivery sequence. Cars were produced before February 97 but deliveries couldn't take place until sometime in March and production stopped in mid June with a total of 9752 cars being produced. It was hard to get one of those cars as a large number of dealers had taken deposits and you had to wait until the person who made a deposit decided to accept the car or not, on top of that a lot of dealers put $10K surcharges on the cars and nobody sold for less than MSRP. Everything produced after mid June of 97 was a 98 model and they initially weren't particularly easy to purchase either. Things didn't really free up until the 99s were available.

It all depends on how long you want to wait. New or used C7 probably doesn't make much difference as there are good deals on all of them. The big difference is the new car will have all the little tweaks and feature improvements that GM made over the years and it will have your *** print in the seat Vs somebody else's. Feature improvements include front cameras, S/C mods, suspension calibration upgrades, modified displays that provide present info in a better manner, enhanced PDR data recording, etc.

Bill

Buy a C7 now. New used, whatever. Buying a corvette is not like timing the stock market but a lot of people treat it that way. Does a grand or two really matter with your dream car? Can't take it with you.

GM can't even get the 2019 C7 right, how long do you think it's gonna take them with the C8 ?

What's wrong with the 2019s? My buddy just picked up an orange loaded 2019 Z06 and it was way better panel fit and paint than my 2014.

Got mine used, my first Vette as well. Was in mint condition and at a great price point vs new cars around that price.
New Camaro or two year old mint C7, it was an easy choice for me.

Agree with thread consensus.

You an get a new 2019 1LT Grand Sport M7 in the upper $50s. A pretty good value.
