With the emphasis on flexible automation these days they will build high dollar C8 alongside the current C7 indefinably until such time that marketing decides to shift the product mix and offer lower price C8’s until demand for the C7 drops considerably, maybe.

not necessarily... the official announcements for the upcoming model year always happen at the Bash in late April.
But as I had mentioned, the Bash announcement originally had "2020 Corvette" all through it, and it has since been edited to remove any reference of having a 2020 model car at the Bash.
Could this mean that there will not be a 2020 C7? Or that the 2020 C7 will just be a 2019 part II with nothing special to announce until the C8 is revealed?
Whatever happens, I think it will be an interesting message at the Bash... even if nothing is said at all.

There is no 2020 C7... we'd have heard about it by now. Gm is going staying quiet, will start to tease the C8 this summer (hopefully soon), then we wait for the car to be ready. A poster in C8 Gen who made 1 post said he worked for a supplier and said they were notified Start of Production was 12/2019. We shall see.

C7 of the Year - Unmodified Finalist 2021
I ordered my '19 as "I don't know" - I want a manual car (my C6 is auto) and if all the rumours are true I won't be able to have a manual Corvette in the future.
