Carbon flash is a metallic flake black. Gorgeous color.

Hydro carbon is bootleg carbon fiber. Looks fake is fake

You'll want Carbon Flash to match the rest of the car.

However the factory splash guards are textured (slightly rough) plastic, they are not painted. Thus you would need to sand them smooth before applying paint or doing a hydro-dip carbon-fiber finish.

Thanks. Sounds like carbon flash is the way to go. Going to order ACS XL splash guard and was wondering about the finish

Fred,
Funny you just posted this. I just came into the house after installing my carbon flash XL rock guards on my black '19 GS. They look great. I will try to take a few shots when I have the car back outside

Fred, I fixed your thread's title for you!

I think GM/Chevy is trying to fool everyone with Carbon Flash. Like Ace said, Carbon Flash is simply Black Metallic.

Unlike Ace said, Hydro Carbon Fiber is a dip. Yes, it's fake. It doesn't look bad, though. Here is an example of Hydro Carbon Fiber.....

Considering the ACS XL rock guards as well. Looking forward to your pics. Don’t want something that looks too big.

^^^ Ace, I think you're right about the Mr. Carbon Fiber. When I started modifying my engine bay in 2013, no Carbon Fiber pieces were made yet.

It doesn't look bad, in my view.

Here is a side shot. You should be able to see it on a big computer screen better than on your phone. Lol.

Yes there from ACS. I don’t have a pic standing directly from the back. I think this is the best one I have.

That's a beautiful pic, and I see another puzzle in the mix!
